This is based off something that recently happened to me. *shudder* I never want to go through this again!
"Sir, the avengers are here."
"Let them in Jarvis."
"Yes sir." The AI said normally, the voice slightly echoing through the large house while the door unlocked. Peter, Steve, Fury, Janet and Hank all slipped through the door quietly when they noticed Pepper wasn't awake yet.
Tony told them earlier she had the day off and that she usually spent it sleeping sense she was now three months pregnant and was getting worn down easier. They all walked to Tony's living room as Jarvis shut the door behind them.
"Stark." Fury said walking past him without another word, making his way into the room where their meetings took place.
"Morning Tony." Steve said with a smile that immediately made his friend smile back, "Morning Steve."
They stepped inside and started their meeting.
Pepper stretched her legs as she straightened out in bed, moving her hand only to feel something strange move. She tried to ignore it, feeling it move again she finally decided to see what it was.
Opening her eyes, Pepper came face to face with a large palmetto bug sitting on her hand which was lying in front of her face. Her eyes widened and she let out the loudest scream in her life.
The high pitched scream echoed through the house, reaching the room where the avengers were gathered. Tony was talking to Fury when it reached his ears; he stopped and jumped from his chair. Running out of the room with the others following behind him, "Pepper!" He yelled, worrying when he heard another scream which made him run faster up the stairs.
He opened the door to their bedroom and was knocked to the ground by his wife who ran out into the hall; she grabbed his shirt, lifting him off the ground and shook him.
"Tony there's a big nasty disgusting bug in the room go kill it now!" She said, speaking so fast that no one could understand her, "Pepper.. Slow.. Down.. Too fast." Tony said as she stopped shaking him, pulling him to his feet and shoving him towards their bedroom.
"KILL THE BUG!"
"What bug? Where?" He said rubbing his shoulder, walking into the room he didn't see anything. "It went over there!" She said pointing to one corner of the room, Tony looked and saw it.
"Jarvis kill the bug." Tony said, watching as the floor tile that the bug sat lit up; a small sound was heard then the bug dropped to the floor dead.
Pepper stepped into the room, grabbing Tony's shoulder like a lifeline and looking around to make sure there weren't anymore bugs, "Is it dead?"
"Yes, the bug is dead." Tony said giving her a small hug, knowing that Pepper had a big fear of bugs and whenever she came close to one she would panic for the rest of the day.
"No, you know how I get!"
Peter laughed, looking at everyone else. "MJ is afraid of that kind of stuff too, I know how you feel Tony."
"That's great Pete." He said taking her from the room and letting her go with the other's to finish their meeting.
I know this wasn't a good one but I had to write because I really was woken by a big, nasty palmetto bug on my hand. I flipped out like Pepper. lol
