Mourning Love: Prologue
by Cheshire
He's beautiful, isn't he? It's impossible not to notice, and his coldness only reinforces his appeal. After everything that has happened to me, because of him, you'd think I'd forget him, he's so totally not available anymore....But how can I? For a moment, just a moment, he was mine.
I can see them now, that is what brought this on, I'm sure. They're shopping, holding hands. Did he just laugh? I thought I was hearing things, but that pure, siryn song could not be mistaken. He's actually happy, and I'm happy for him, for them, even with the embarrassment and pain they put me through...Just look at them! How could anyone not be glad that something so sweet, something that seems so right, exists.
He's looking over at me, does he even remember who I am? Apparently so, because they're walking towards me, smiles still in place, which surprises me. Did they forget what happened between all of us? No, they've just gotten over it...just as I almost am.
I see _him_ here. They're talking to some girl, big surprise there. They are together, and happy, and how unfair is that? It should be me holding his hand, smiling as we walk down the street, but instead it's the other one. I didn't expect to see them today, but wasn't the entire reason I decided to eat lunch at this small restaurant to get a glimpse of the boy who dared to do what he did to me? The pain and embarrassment I went through was too much....I thought I would die when others found out....
They're sitting down at that girl's table....They seem to know each other well, which is strange, since they haven't been in contact with many people, as far as I'm aware. I make up my mind and start over, throwing enough money on the table to cover my meal and the tip, before starting across the street.
At first they don't notice me, not even him, but I wouldn't think he would notice others, what with how much they have been getting notice lately, how much he is used to being noticed. The other finally looks up, and his eyes go slightly wider than normal, although his cold, almost angry look stays almost the same.
Well, isn't this an interesting development?
