Underneath Knowledge
I fell in love with you. I didn't mean for it to happen, I've never felt this way toward anyone before. I always felt that love was something illogical. It cannot be proven scientifically, and has no realistic traits. But you, with your wild actions, are far from logical. Haven't you noticed how I am always with you? I alone have seen your fears of loosing Hikari, or failing in our mission. Only to me do you admit how scared you are. What would you think about me, our friendship if I told you? Do you feel the same way about me, but too scared to admit it despite your crest of courage? Or do you see me only as a friend, or worse, only good for my computer skills, and nothing more? If I didn't know so much, would you want to be around me so much? Do you only see me as a brain? Can you see the boy underneath, the boy who will fight besides you, no matter what? Maybe I should tell you. I've kept this secret far too long, I need to tell you sometime....
Hey, Tai, can we take short walk on the beach? I need to talk with you. Nothing unusual about that request, right? We often converse about the best plan of action. We sit by the shore, the wind blowing through your chestnut strands. We look at in silence toward the immense blue of the digital ocean. If I told you, what would you say? Would you smile and thank me, hate me, or would you say that you loved me too? Either way you need to know.
Tai, I think I love you. You stare at me for the longest time. I look at the sand, anywhere but those brown eyes of yours.
you ask. I look up into your eyes, afraid to see what you think about me now. Do you hate me now? Then I see your radiate smile.
I think I love you too Izzy.
I smile, than sigh as I begin to shut down my computer. Everyone else has been asleep for hours. If only it were that easy to admit it to Tai. I glance over to where he sleeps. If only he could see what lies underneath my friendship.
