One of my favourite FanFiction writers, NerdyJibbsOreo, posted a Jibbs video on their YouTube channel, FromStoneToHallows (I love the name by the way!) today. The song was You Are The Reason by Calum Scott. I was actually the one who requested it and they dedicated it to me. I sobbed for the whole video. I thought I should write a songfic on it and I have spent the last twenty minutes writing this.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs bolted upright. He could not sleep again. He missed Jennifer Shepard. He wanted her back.
Everytime he woke up abruptly in the middle of the night before Jenny died, it was because of his dead wife Shannon but then Jenny went to be with Shannon, and he woke up many times in the night, wanting Jenny. And Jenny had died to protect him.
"Her last stand was to protect you" Mike had said.
"Who protected her?" Was Gibbs's reply.
He would climb over every mountain and swim through every ocean just to be with her. He wanted to tell her he was sorry for everything, from not going to after her to leaving her in DC while he went to Mexico, to being so horrible to her about La Grenouille to saying no when she asked him to stay, to not being open enough with her. He wanted to see her one last time so she could see that she was the reason he was the person he was, and so that he could tell her he loved her.
Gibbs needed a glass of bourbon so he went to the basement and got one. As he raised it to his lips, his hand shook and he dropped the glass. Tears streamed down his face and he let out a silent sob. His heart was broken. He needed her.
If he could turn back the clock, he would make sure that he did tell her he loved her, and that he was with her at the diner in LA and that she would be safe all the time.
He did not want to fight anymore, he did not want to hurt anymore, he did not want to cry anymore, he wanted her to come back and hold him while he held her.
Gibbs needed Jenny back so he could tell her she was the reason.
