I stepped out from the gate in to a whole different world. Atlantis was really something balconies, a grand stair case that stood before the gate and the interior was amazing. These ancients sure knew how to live I thought. I stumbled a few steps forward disorientated from gate travel, I fell forward expecting to meet the cold hard floor instead it was nice warm hands. I dared to look up, in front of me was possibly the cutest guy ever with black messy hair, dark eyes and dressed in the standard uniform of Atlantis.
"Hey, you ok?" he asked.
"Um….yeah sure thanks" I replied blushing like the idiot I am.
"Good." He smiled at me. I stood up started swaying, I clutched my pounding head.
"Woah," he grabbed my arm steading me, "Let me take you bag and I'll take you to the med bay."
"No, I'm a Doctor I'll be fine after I sit down and have some water."
"Well let me take you to your quarters," he offered
"Ok then," I said taking up his offer. He checked his list as we started to walk he still had my arm, "Doctor what?" he asked.
"Jones."
"Ok well your close to my quarters." He said grinning. We walked for a couple of seconds ion scilence.
"What's your name?" I asked him still holding my throbbing head.
"Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard," he replied "What's your Doc?"
"Susan but I been called Suzy a couple of times," I told him, Colonel Sheppard nodded.
"So Colonel Sheppard you're in charge of Atlantis?"
"Yeah, I mean it's not easy but one of the coolest jobs around and it even tops controlling ferris wheels all day," he said smiling. I stared at him as we stopped out side what must have been my quarters.
"Ferris wheels?" I ask
"Yeah there the coolest rides ever," He answered. "Well Doc these are your quarters, are you sure you'll be ok?" he said looking at my head.
"Yes Colonel I'll be fine" I said smiling.
"Well see you around Doc."
"Thanks Colonel!"
Yep I was looking forward to living on Atlantis.
