A/N: Kind of a short one to start off with. Need to get my mojo on after my stupid hiatus. For full details on my apologetic pathetic (rhyme!!)-ness, please see my Vexen drabblefic. Yeah, it's finally up. I've decided to upload one Vexen and one Lexaeus every day this month, to make up for my horrible schedule over the last two months. It's been quite hectic with exams and work and stuff. Please forgive me! XD
So to longterm readers – I'm really sorry! To newcomers, don't be scared I'm never gonna let it happen again and Welcome!! This is the Lexaeus installment of my New Years' Resolution Drabbles (for more info see my profile 'cause this AN is already too long XD)
I wasn't sure what to do with Lex, but the style seems to be working. Zexion will crop up a lot here – their best-friend dynamic was too good to ignore. So yeah – ENJOY!! ^_^
"From today, you will be stationed in Castle Oblivion."
"Yes sir," Lexaeus affirmed respectfully, seeing Zexion silently nod in his peripherals.
Xemnas smiled, lips parting slowly. "I've positioned Eleven as the Lord of the castle. You're job is to oversee his actions. He's young after all."
Lexaeus could see his smaller friend grow visibly annoyed at the terms, and despite knwoing that Xemnas didn't know the sixth Organization member quite well enough to notice it, Lexaeus decided it would be prudent to cut in.
"Sir? Is this to be carried out in secret?"
Xemnas languidly swung his amber eyes up to Lexaeus, emanating power despite being the smaller in stature. (The Superior was never intimidated). "Of course, Five," he chuckled, surety injected into every word. "You won't be the only members there either."
"Who else will we have the pleasure of skirting around, then?" Zexion piped up from beside Lexaeus, all self-righteousness and maturity in defiance of his deceptive youth.
Lexaeus thought he was being just a little rude.
"Twelve, Four and Eight will also be there," Xemnas told the Schemer, patiently.
That being one of the perks of having known Xemnas so long. Service breeds loyalty which breeds respect which breeds lenience. It was like a perfectly completed puzzle.
It also showed why they were being sent to babysit Marluxia, Lexaeus wryly mused.
"This will be a long mission, and the state of the Castle right now is unclear. Be prepared."
The two nodded, and, recognising the dismissal, Lexaeus turned, holding the door for his friend on the way out.
