I do not own Harry Potter or anything that is affiliated with it! R&R please!
Harry walked amongst the rubble of the battlefield, finally escaping the crowds of people, mourning for their loved ones or thanking Harry. He didn't want to hear it. He didn't defeat Voldemort. He couldn't have done it alone. He wasn't some great hero, so why must they all act like he is? He kicked a stone and watched it rollaway, coming to a stop at the feet of none other than Aberforth Dumbledore.
"So you did it then, Potter?" He asked Harry, referring to defeating the Dark Lord.
"Seems that way. Though, I never could have done it without help." Harry replied evenly, giving an unconvincing smile to the older gentleman.
Aberforth looked at him appraisingly for a while before speaking again. "You're just like him, you know? I mean lots say that he was flashy and only wanted attention on himself, but he always gave credit where it was due."
"Who?" Harry asked, intrigued.
"You're father of course, you look quite a bit like him, too." Aberforth shared a sad and reminiscent smile.
"You knew my Dad?"
"Course I did! He was always showing up to my pub, wasn't he?" Aberforth countered.
Harry smiled, "Could you tell me more about him?"
"Well, I suppose so." Aberforth stepped forward, cupping Harry's chin with his hand. "He was brave, smart, funny. Your father was an amazing dueler, and an even better friend. He was always checking to make sure everyone was taken care of. You especially."
Harry smiled, "Thanks, Ab."
Aberforth sighed and moved his arm over Harry's shoulder, "Come now, Harold. I'll buy you a butterbeer", he smiled.
"That sounds. . . appealing." Harry looked back up at him, only to find Aberforth gazing back down at him.
"Good." Ab lead him away from the battlefield and eventually on their walk slipped his arm from Harry's shoulder and interlocked their fingers. Harry seemed surprised at first by the action but in the end, just tightened his grip.
The 'Stag and the Goat' walked on, forgetting the war and seeing only each other. THE END.
A/N: Okay, yes this was a really weird drabble, but I only wrote it for fun. My friend Olivia and I were in the Media Center at school and I was telling her about a fanfic that I was reading called "The Stag and the Doe" and she thought I said goat instead of doe. So, it's kind of a joke story because I wrote it during finals to distract myself from studying. Anyways, to be clear, I don't actually ship Haberforth. Please read my other stuff, though! I love it when y'alls do :) -Jules
