Hi guys! So I came up with this idea for the story when I tried to fall asleep.

Hiashi Hyuga met many people in his life who, after losing their loved ones, have changed into a completely different person. Once cheerful and full of love a man could become sad and full of anger.
People like this don't value their life any longer. They take more missions - more dangerous missions. The thought of losing their life doesn't scare them. Why would it? They don't have a person for whom they could live for.
Yes, he knew a lot of shinobi like that and when his wife died because of some virus, he himself almost turned into someone like that. Almost.
The thought of his two beautiful daughters kept him sane. He knew that he had to continue to live because of his children who he loved very much.
But he couldn't take care of them at that time. It was still too early for him to look at the oldest one of his kids, who looks exactly like the wife that he no longer has, it was too early to look at her and not feel the pain of losing his lover, his best friend. So he decided to separate himself from them for some time. He started to work harder and completely stopped seeing his daughters.
Months passed and after half a year he felt strong enough to look after his kids again. Hanabi was more than happy about it, always laughing, always babbling like a sweet baby that she was. Still small and innocent. This almost one year old child probably didn't remember her mother so why would she be sad? He was glad for her.
Hinata was a completely different story. She knew her mother all her childhood and lost her so suddenly. He saw so much sadness in her eyes, so much anger. And he understood this girl wasn't his child. Not anymore. This was a whole new person. Once sweet and shy with a big loving heart, now sad and mad without love in her life.
At first he thought that she changed because the world took away her mother but now he knows that it wasn't the only reason.
The day she lost her mother she also lost her father. He left her alone. The small girl who didn't know what was happening. The small girl that needed to know that everything would be alright. All she got was a cold shoulder from her dad, though. So she cried quietly in her room for days because she lost her parents.
That was when the new Hinata was born.
Hiashi Hyuga realized that it was all his fault and that he couldn't call himself a father any longer. Not now and probably not ever. Not anymore.
