Exhilaration of the moment
I'm screaming into a dive
Soaring up into the sky
Unfurling midnight wings
Wings of the night
Born of the black
Fueling my wonderful joy
Pushing aside all else
Up here in the thin air
I cannot be disturbed
By jeers of my wings
From people who think it's absurd
My only wish had been
To simply fly away
It's been granted
The sky cannot stay away
Gone is the horrible torment
Pain of being grounded
If only, if only
The ground could fade away
Never again will people hurt me
I will never see them again
Me and my wondrous wings
Are a brand new pair
Through the chill of the night air
Arrowing like a fish through water
Wind streaming over my face
Spreading wings into the night
Such a beautiful landscape below
Only I can see this way
The only reason the ground should stay
Wonders of life all around
Instead of alighting on the cold ground
My hands grip a tree, tall and fair
Still warm with the sun's touch
and I drift into a peaceful sleep
Heart pounding, sweat pouring
I jolt to my feet in a panic
Reaching around, only smooth skin
Only a dream
Just a wonderful
Fantastic
Dream
