Rin stared at Itsuki's back as he walked away. All around her the cherry blossom's fell and her classmates busteled, but she didn't notice any of it. She could only focus on Itsuki.
A spring-like breeze rolls around outside the school building
A sweet scowl
It's already over, isn't it?
Rin placed a hand on the cherry tree, remembering when they would sit there and talk after school. Once they had even climbed the tree. But those moments were no more.
It was just a short while ago when
We had talked about a lot of things
Nostalgically thinking back to
When we would meet up at the usual place
"I'll be great one day! And I won't need anyone!" That's what he said, one of the many times he'd told Rin about his unachievable future. "I'll do anything, go anywhere if I need too!"
You always remember everything
Always chasing after your unreachable dreams
No matter where they may take you
And yet, you don't feel lonely.
Rin opened her hand and gazed at the small, withered clover in it. Itsuki had picked it for her months ago, and she carried it everywhere with her as a reminder of their happy meetings.
These precious memories always will remain in my heart
Earnestly holding onto a clover that you picked for me
A single tear trickled down Rin's cheek, and she smiled brightly despite it.
Thank you for all of the love that you've shown me.
Thank you for making every day wonderful.
My heart is in pain, and yet
Somehow, I don't feel lonely.
Cherry blossoms showered down on Rin, and she glanced up at the huge tree. The trunk split and went different directions, just like their paths.
After leaving this tree trunk, we'll each go our seperate ways
And even when the leaves and branches grow, everything's the same
"I'll be the best in the world one day! And without anyone's help!" He'd said another time. "It doesn't matter where I'll have to go to get it done!"
You always remember everything
Always chasing after your unreachable dreams
No matter where they may take you
And yet, you don't feel lonely.
Another tear fell, yet Rin smiled even brighter. Her heart ached, yet she was perfectly happy.
Even though I've cried a little bit
And even though my heart hurts this much
Thank you for such wonderful days
Suddenly Itsuki stopped. Without turning around, he said, "Goodbye." then disappeared into the crowd of people. Rin was alone, but she didn't feel lonely.
Somehow I... somehow, I don't feel so lonely.
Thank you for those days.
Thank you.
She turned around and started walking towards her own future, but stopped and whispered, "Arigato."
