A. N. January 16th Drabble: Take note that this is from a skewed, self deprecating point of view. From what I've read in the manga and seen in both series animes, Ryou doesn't exactly have high self-esteem... Enjoy!

Tears Fade

"'Cause all of the stars are fading away, Just try not to worry you'll see them someday, Just take what you need and be on your way, And stop crying your heart out…." Stop Crying Your Heart Out – Oasis

He had always been the 'crybaby' of the Bakura household.
Or at least, that was what Amane, a full eighteen months younger than Ryou, called him.
It was true.
As a child, he'd never exactly been brave. Or confident. Or anything that Amane was.
Amane had been strong-willed and brave and kind. She had been outgoing and loud.
She had been wonderful; an angel among demons, a saint among sinners. She had been the type of child that made friends easily; the type of child that would play with anyone and everyone. She had been absolutely perfect.
And she had never cried. Never.
Not even when she broke her arm. Not even when she fell headfirst off of her bike. Not even in the moments before she died.
Ryou is sure that her final moments had been agonizing.
Ryou, on the other hand, had cried at anything and everything. He had been timid and quiet; weak and pale.
People have always feared him, even when he was a child. He's always been 'creepy'.
And Amane had always hated it when he cried.
Which is why, several years later, he hasn't shed a single tear.
