The Morning After
A/N: This is probably the shortest oneshot I've ever written, but I think it's short and sweet. It was inspired from NightLife's artwork. Credit goes to him or her for the image. Anyway, hope you enjoy!
When Kristoff opened his eyes, he saw the sun shining in through the window. He looked over to his left, and saw that Anna was still sound asleep. Kristoff didn't blame her. It was the morning after she had given birth to their son, Joseff. All those long hours in labor had clearly taken a lot out of her. Speaking of which, Joseff was currently sleeping in a crib beside their bed. Unable to control his fatherly instincts, Kristoff walked over to the crib, and looked at his newborn son. He was sleeping soundly too; a sweet sight to behold. Kristoff gently picked him up, keeping him wrapped up in his blanket. He brought him over to the bed, and sat down. He cradled Joseff in his arms, looking happily at him. He stroked his son's head with one of his fingers. Meanwhile, Anna opened her eyes, seeing her husband holding their son in his arms. She smiled lovingly at them, putting a hand on Kristoff's arm.
"Good morning, daddy," she said.
"Good morning, mommy," Kristoff replied. "Shouldn't you be asleep?"
Anna laughed a little. "Well, I am still very tired, but I'm so excited at the same time. Joseff is so beautiful."
"Yeah, he sure is," Kristoff said in amazement. "I can't believe we're parents."
Anna smiled. "Neither can I. I'm so happy. Can I hold him?"
"Of course," Kristoff said, handing Joseff over to Anna.
Anna used what little strength she had to sit up in bed, cradling Joseff in her arms.
"Hi sweetie! Good morning," she said. "Oh, Joseff, we love you so much!"
"We sure do, buddy," Kristoff added. "You're the light of our life."
Anna gave Joseff a kiss on the cheek, smiling brightly. "Sleep tight, sweetie."
Kristoff and Anna sat there on the bed, looking at Joseff. The two of them knew that a lifetime of happiness was in store for them. Joseff had been born into a wonderful family who loved him very much. Their family had been blessed indeed.
A/N: Like I said, this was meant to be a short, touching, new family moment.
