This is just a random drabble that I came up with when I was half asleep, so it may be a little confusing or even seem to keep going around in circles. Anyway, I came up with it after flipping through the guide book and finding the map of The World That Never Was. After reading through the names of each room, a thought struck and that's when I wrote this. Hope you like it, enjoy. =D

Disclaimer: I do not own kingdom hearts what so ever. But if they ever want to hand the rights over to me, I'll be more than happy to accept.

Hall of Empty Melodies

Have you ever heard a song with no real emotion in it? Or a melody lacking feeling? No, you haven't, have you? But tunes like these exist. They just go unnoticed. No one hears them because there isn't anything that people can relate to. Sure, there are words and all, but the passion in a song is what draws people toward it.

I never realised this until I became a nobody. To me, a good song had great lyrics and a catchy beat. It didn't need anything else. But when I attempt to play now, all I can hear are the ghosts of emotion. With only the ghosts, the song is just barely holding together.

I listen while I play and I feel a shadow of sadness which is, yet again, not real. And that's when I remember I don't have a heart. Because, surely if you don't have a heart, you can't put any real emotion in a tune. And, as I've come to realise over and over, tunes without emotion are just empty melodies. Constantly playing but never being heard.

What happens to them, though? Do they just fade, as I might one day? Or do they gather somewhere? Maybe in a hall of empty melodies. Perhaps if there are enough of them, they can combine and become one song. One everyone will hear. Or is that just being too optimistic?

Could these tunes have a heart? Is it just too weak to be heard? Maybe… But either way, I hope someone will take the time to listen one day. Because, maybe all these songs need is a little acknowledgement to thrive. Hopefully, one day the songs won't need anywhere to gather. And that's when the hall of empty melodies will disappear, forever.

End

Hmm, this could definitely be better. Maybe I'll rewrite it when I'm not to lazy. Lol. Anyway, I might add another chapter or two if I can write more drabbles.

Oh, please review and tell me if this makes sense at all. Thanks ^_^
