My first attempt at a Teen Titans fanfiction for Alena-chan's story challenge. I adore this pairing.
Atop the tower…
It was night.
The moon was out in front of her so she glowed.
But not with happiness and the kind of warmth she loved.
No, but with sadness.
She was singing a song her mother used to. It was supposed to be beautiful. It was, but tonight…
It was a heartbreaker's tune.
In her hand she clutched the paper rose he gave to her.
Back when she actually thought he was honest.
That thought was painful. How could she ever be so stupid.
The words he said to her. How he promised her everything she wanted. Like Love.
But it was a lie. All of it. Even the love. And it cut her like a knife.
She grew angry. More tears fell down her face.
She stood up.
Then outstretching her hand, released the rose.
And watched it fall.
He and the rose deserved that.
But in a way so did she.
It wasn't right for her to love.
That much she knew.
But she wanted it so badly, it made her cry sometimes.
Like now.
Growing weak from sadness, she fell on her knees.
And cried some more.
A hand rested on her shoulder, gently with sympathy.
Looking up she saw him.
He felt bad for her.
But, obviously he should.
She wanted to look strong but she could not.
Or maybe
she didn't want to.
So instead……
…..she cried on his chest.
He said nothing.
But knew to keep this a secret.
Because……
Silence is safe.
That much he knew… …meant to her.
Well, yah that was it! Actually the song they talk about in the story is background music for the Inuyasha soundtrack called Fate of Awakening Love, only the first part.
