"Ada!" The five year old ran into her father's study.

"What's wrong Alianna?"

"Why is water falling?" Her father laughs. He walks over, picks her up, and takes her to the closed window.

"This is called rain. It doesn't do it often here, but what it does is make the grass and plants grow." She nods, very interested in it. Thunder sounds, lightning flashes, and she buries her head in her father's chest. "Relax sweetheart, the loud noise is there to tell the rain how much longer it can go on, the lightening gets our attention to distract us from the rain." she nods, her grey-green eyes widening.

"Ada?"

"Yes?"

"Im mella lle."

"I love you too," He says smiling. He sits on the window seat with her in his lap; together they sat and watched until the rain stopped. He looks down to see his daughter sound asleep. Slowly he picks her up and takes her to her room.

The small room, decorated in Lord of the rings— she had watched the movie last year and was absolutely in love with the Elves and Hobbits. He stops at the door and looks the sleeping girl, never knowing it would be the last time.

The girls' window creaked open, the smell of fresh rain filling the room. The man climbs in and gently picks up the small child and her stuffed bear. He wraps her in a thick cloak and steps back out the window. The child in his arms stirs but doesn't wake.

"Don't worry, you're going home," he whispers. She smiles an almost imperceptible smile. While he waits for the portal to open he looks down at her, studies her. She has her mother's hair and skin color; her lips are that of both parents full but not pouting.

Her hair is straight like her father's she also has his athletic body. He could remember that when she was born she was all anyone would talk about and all that seemed to matter. We could all tell she was going to be very bright for her age. When she first opened her eyes they were the color of the sea, but they changed with her mood.

Not at all unusual here, but there it was called magic. The portal opens and the man steps through it and into a throne room. Her father raced forward, her mother having long since died. He gently took her from the man.

The king walks over, followed by his son. She opened her eyes; grey-green, she is curious. Recognition shows in her eyes and she embraced the guardian. He then sat her down to hug the prince; her friend Legolas. Her father; Haldir picks her up and took her to her room to sleep.
