I am Reimu Hakurei and I am the shrine maiden of paradise. My duties are: cleaning the shine daily, solving incidents, perform rituals, exterminate youkai, and maintain the border. I have high intuition meaning I can easily predict my opponent's next move. I often make friends with youkai instead of killing them. I'm very talented in what I do but I admit I am pretty lazy which explain why I'm so poor.
I'm friends with a witch named Marisa Kirisame. She always gets into my business when I'm busy. Another friend of mine, Yukari Yakumo, has helped me in some incidents. There is a manor that inhabits two vampires, many fairies (maid), two youkai, and a human. All of them are probably the only people that donate to my shrine. Even their donations can't keep me rich.
I don't know anything about my parents since I was raised by Yukari. All I know about my family is that they are the ones who sealed Gensokyo away. I was told that I was the thirteenth Hakurei. The only "family" I have besides Yukari is Genji my turtle. He helped me a lot when I was younger.
The Hakurei shrine isn't the only shine there is in Gensokyo. My rival, Sanae Kochiya, happens to be another shrine maiden. Of course we never try to start to get into a war after the incident her goddess caused.
There were a few people who tried to take my power. An evil spirit named Mima tried to steal my powers. Mima was a powerful spirit that has similar magic with Marisa. Thanks to her I met my closest friend, Marisa.
