A Journey into the Unknown
Rose: Welcome to chapter 1 of… A Journey into the Unknown! Except, this is the rewrite now! Yeah, we're going through all the chapters and redoing them to match up with the newest chapter. Also, Luna's here! Like, I'm not making up our conversations!
Luna: At least not anymore…
Rose: Yeah. Now she makes her own lines. We also are co-writing!
Luna: Whoo! I get to help :D
Rose: Now without further ado… Chapter 1! … And the disclaimer.

Rose: xD that disclaimer goes for the whole story. We only own this idea. Now, read and enjoy everyone! (fyi, most likely all the new chapters will be waaayy longer than the original. I don't think anyones complaining though xD)
Black (POV)
Nuvema Town. Home to the esteemed Pokemon Professor Juniper. It is also home to my three friends, White, Bianca, and Cheren. They left for a journey a few months ago, and now it's my turn! Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Hilbert! But I prefer to be called Black, just as Hilda prefers to be called White. Anyways, today was the day I would get my first Pokemon and start my journey through Unova!
After grabbing my signature red, white, and black hat, along with my bag, I ran down the stairs and almost flew out the door if my mother hadn't stopped me, saying that I had almost forgotten my Xtransceiver. With a sheepish grin and a thank you, I left my home, heading towards Juniper's lab. She greeted me with a wide smile. She was about to launch into her introduction speech to all beginning trainers, but since I was there with White when she heard the speech, I already knew the main points of her speech, and preferably did not want to hear it again. Instead, I wanted to see my choices for my first partner Pokemon.
"Hilbert, I know you are eager to choose a partner, but I-"
"Professor please, I know the speech already and I really want to see the Pokemon, I didn't get to see them when I was with White!" The professor sighed. Under her breathe she spoke, "Sweet Arceus kid let me have this moment." She stood a little bit taller and walked over to the table with the three starter pokeballs "Here we are, ALLOW me to INTRODUCE you to..." She tapped the first PokeBall and it opened up with a small flash of green and there stood a snake like creature...with legs and arms. "This is Snivy," she announced "The grass-type Pokemon!" She took a step and tapped on the middle pokeball. Red flash, and this time a pig was standing in the place beside Snivy. "And finally… we have..." Tapping the last pokeball and seeing blue flash a rather small looking otter, it was a little bit smaller than the other two starters. I looked at all of them with excitement and awe. "They look so cool!" I exclaimed, I jumped over to stand in front of the first one, Snivy, "Hi!" I leaned over a bit and smiled at the green creature. It looked back at me and pointed it nose in the air, looking away making a small huffing sound. "Aww.." I was a little upset that it did not like me very much at first approach, but it was still very cool looking, I side stepped over to Tepig, and looked closely, it was watching me with uneasy eyes and it was snorting out small puffs of smoke. I slowly lifted my hand and before I could say anything the thing launched itself off the table and tackled me to the ground with full force "Owwww…." I groaned and got up slowly "What was that for I didn't even touch you!" The fire pig grunted and hopped on the table and put itself back in the pokeball. Juniper, watching all this gave a smile and a sweat dropped appeared on her head. "Guess I forgot to mention that Tepig here is a little rough, I'm so sorry I do hope you are alright..." I looked at her and rubbed my front. "It's ok, I'm fine, was just a little surprised" I glanced over at Snivy who was laughing a bit. "How come they both don't like me..." I sighed and looked over at the last one, Oshawott who was playing with it's little shell, flipping it over and over in it's little… stubs. I made my way over carefully and stood in front of it. It looked up at me and smiled and threw its arms in the air and jumped up waving frantically at me. I smiled and felt my heart go a little faster. It was so cute. And a whole lot nicer than the other two Pokemon.
"Professor I think I've made my decision." Looking at all three starters, I bent down and picked up the blue and white otter. " I pick Oshawott!" I said with a grin.
"Oshawott!" it shouted and jumped happily into the air. That did it. This is my perfect partner! Now… For a nickname. I thought for a second looking at Oshawott carefully "Oshimurai." I had no idea why, but that name seemed to fit the tiny water type. "Right then!" The Professor clapped her hands together and nodded "That's a wonderful nickname! Now, I have to give you...this." She revealed a red rectangular item from her pocket "This is a Pokedex, it let's you identify all the Pokemon you have caught and gives you information on them" She handed it over to me with a look of encouragement. "Now, go out there and become the amazing trainer you wish to be!"
With one last check for all my supplies, I stepped out of the lab with my new friend hanging out on top of my head and went to the edge of town that connected to Route 1. I looked back at the town one last time, and thought 'Maybe I should say a final farewell to mother...'
I blinked and shook my head. "NAH" I already said my goodbyes. Now, it's time to start my adventure! Taking my first steps into the route and watching the leaves fall from the trees, I felt excited. I'm finally doing it! While taking a look around the route, I saw a person bent over, looking at a dropped object on the dropped. The object looked like a town map. Meanwhile, the person could only be described as… Unique. From my perspective, she looked fairly tall, with long green hair kept back with a white and black hat. She was also somewhat pale, with a golden bracelet adorning one of her wrists. She wore a white short sleeved shirt with a black long sleeve underneath, along with tan pants. 'Wow,' I thought 'She seems lost, better ask her if she's okay.' I walked over and by that time she had already picked up the Town Map and wiped off the dust and examined it. She seemed cute.
"Heya Miss, can I uh.. Help you?" She turned around quickly and saw me, as if for the first time and blinked in confusion. Now that I saw her face, I could see that she had blue eyes and...wait...that's not a…
I immediately backed two steps away. "Oh my Arceus dude I'm so sorry I thought- I mean from the back you looked like a-" With a chuckle, the green haired teen shook his head.
"No, no. No need to apologize. You aren't the first to confuse me for a lady. You most likely will not be the last either." He replied calmly, despite the fact I was freaking out and I could feel my face was burning red. Before I could open my mouth to express my apology, he held a hand up, cutting me off.
"Enough. It was an honest mistake afterall. Although… May I ask where you got that Pokemon? You don't really see many around." He asked curiously, pointing at the otter happily squealing from my head. "Oh, him? This is my new friend Oshimurai! He's an Oshawott!" I gave a grin and reached my head up and rubbed the little guys head, which he wiggled his tail around happily.
"That so? I guess that would make you a Pokemon Trainer, yes?" The teens face darkened ever so slightly. After I gave a nod of confirmation, he turned his head and held his chin, quietly mumbling, "So you will be trapping many Pokemon along the way…" The comment put me in shock. How could he just assume that about me? "Am not! I'm not really aiming to complete the Pokedex anyways… I just want to be a great trainer! As for the Pokemon I do catch, I'm going to keep them out of their Pokeballs! Like Oshimurai!" At the mention of his name, said water typed chirped happily. This made the other tilt his head in confusion.
"Is that so? Then you'll be forcing them to fight other Pokemon?" At this point, I was getting slightly upset at what he was saying. "I won't be forcing them to do anything they don't want to… I want to be their friend after all!" If it was possible, I'd guess that comment confused him even more. "That so… Up ahead is Accumula Town. A speech will be taking place shortly. It may benefit you to listen to it. Oh, as well as this. I have no need for this item." He walked over and handed over the object in his hands to me. "It's called a Town Map. It shows a map of the Unova region. Now then, I bid you farewell. Maybe we'll see each other again." With a slight wave, the green haired teen took his leave, Heading in the direction of the town he had mentioned.
I looked down at the item he gave me. He said it was a Town Map. I opened up the item and saw what he meant. It was a detailed map of the entire region. And now that I had a better look, the Unova region was huge! Exploring every last nook and cranny of it would take a lot of time. Which also meant… I had to get going! If I was going to see everything, I had to get started right now! With that thought in mind, I started running. Running through route and seeing all the new Pokemon. One was a small brown puppy whose name was Lillipup. The other was a brown rat with big red and yellow eyes, named Patrat. I got their names from the Pokedex, of course.
Once Oshimurai and I stepped into the town, my first course of action was to head to the Pokemon Center and heal up my friend. After letting him out of his ball, I then went to the mart inside the Center and checked out the items they had, and even bought a few. With that, I went outside to see the crowd and signs on the plaza.
Rose: … We didn't even get halfway through the original first chapter. We added A LOT of detail. So we're cutting it off and taking the rest onto the next chapter.
Luna: Idk about you but I have not written in...years? I guess, and look at what we created oml.
Rose: 3 more chapters to rewrite! Can't wait!
Luna: TECHNICALLY, 4 because chapter 1 is being continued as a chapter 2.
Rose: … Looks like this might get 6 chapters now. Yay for that xD
