House sitting is something that most teenagers go through when their parents deem them old enough to look after things in their absence- why should Jareth and Sarah's daughter be any different? What challenges might she face?

Read on and find out

"Are you entirely sure you will be alright looking after the place while we are away?" Jareth asked as he Sarah and their teenaged daughter, Jae, stood in the throne room; he and Sarah were both wearing their travelling cloaks; Jae was dressed in tights and a tunic, with bare feet.

"Yes Dad" Jae sighed, he'd been asking her this for nearly a month now

"Jareth, she's not stupid- she can look after things around here for two weeks"

Jae smiled her thanks to her mother- her father treated her like she was still the little girl who had been wished away thirteen years ago by a moronic wannabe suitor of mother's- she was eighteen for the gods' sake. "Have fun at council"

"You will be coming with us when you are Queen, Little one"

"Well Dad that'll be when grandpapa's pushing up the daisies- and from the looks of his High majesty I'd say I'm safe for at least a few centuries"

The three royals laughed then Jareth and Sarah turned into their Barn Owl forms gave a parting hoot to their daughter and flew off to the High Court.

Jae settled herself in her father's throne- strangely; her mother's just wasn't as comfortable- and sighed, contented. She had the castle to herself for the next two weeks as her brother, Kai, now thirteen- had decided for some reason that he wanted to enrol at Boarding School. She only saw the brat during his school holidays.

She had two weeks as unofficial Goblin Queen ahead of her and she was going to enjoy every minute of it.
