The tears fall slowly as the memories I've been holding onto fade.
My heart breaks,
As I see you walk away from the person you used to be.
People tell me things change,
But that's not true,
People change.
Hearts grow distant,
And we walk away from the life we once knew.
The past becomes a blur,
And the pictures are clouded over with dust.
I know we can't go back in time,
But I wish there was a way to prevent you from leaving.
I see it over and over,
But I can't find the words to make you stay.
My knees tremble,
My hands shake.
My head spins,
And my heart breaks,
As I'm left wishing for your return.

A/N: This is a poem of sorts that I wrote a while back about an ended friendship in my life. I personally think that this could relate to Lily's character after her fight with Severus, but that's my opinion.
