Heehee I'm a sucker for DeiSaku :D
She could hear the wind start to get harsher, and the rainfall hit the ceiling like bullets. There were rarely ever storms in the fire country, so she wasn't as used to it as the others were. She could face any enemy without flinching, without fear. But the harsh weather terrified her. She didn't know how she made it this far.
Sakura had been in Akatsuki for about a month, and still hadn't gotten used to the storms and hurricanes. She flinched as another bolt of thunder cracked.
There was a knock at her door, but frozen in place, she didn't answer. "Sakura?" there was a muffled call behind the door. "Hey, Sakura? I'm coming in, yeah."
The man that entered her room was Deidara, her partner. After she had killed his previous one, she was expected to fill the empty spot she had made in the organization.
"Hidan just challenged Kisame to a round of pool and we all know that hell is gonna' break loose. Wanna' come and watch, yeah?" She was still under her covers, shivering, and occasionally flinching. "Sakura?"
He walked up to her bed and tried to pull the covers off to reveal her face, but she gripped even harder to the sheets, not allowing it.
"What's wrong? I promise I won't let Hidan wreck the room, yeah." She still didn't move. "Don't tell me…" she jumped up at the particularly loud thunderclap. "…you're afraid of a little thunder?" She rolled over, pulling more covers with her.
"How can you be afraid of thunder? I love it, yeah." Deidara sat down on her bed next to her. "It's just like my art. One brilliant flash, and then it's gone. You can't be afraid of thunder if you think of it as me, yeah." Sakura slowly removed the covers from her eyes to glance at him. "You aren't afraid of me, are you?" she pulled down the covers a bit more to reveal her mouth, which was curled up in a smile.
"Hardly." He laughed and demanded why. Of course, she refused to tell. Their chat continued in that light-hearted manner until there was another brilliant flash, which caused Sakura to jump. Her eyes flew shut and she grabbed the nearest thing to her, which was very warm. As the thunder died down a little, she opened one eye to look at what she had grabbed on to.
Seeing Deidara's playful smirk on his face made her pull back and mutter a "sorry."
"If that makes you feel better, don't apologize, yeah." When there was a smaller bolt, she reached out for Deidara, but stopped halfway and pulled back. He sighed and shook his head at her with a small smile in place. He threw his legs up on the bed and wrapped his arms around Sakura. "Better?" She was tense for a moment, but almost instantly relaxed and nodded. "That's good." He yawned and set his head on one of her pillows, pulling her down with him. He seemed to ignore her blush, which was quite obvious on her face. When a frenzy of thunderbolts broke out, Deidara tightened his grip on Sakura, just as she did on him.
When it died down, she relaxed and let out a long, stressed sigh.
Think of it as Deidara… Think of it as Deidara…
There was another bolt, but she didn't flinch. Instead, she smiled and began to nod off to sleep.
Deidara…
"Sakura?" He turned his head to look at her, but her eyes were closed, and there was a smile on her face. He gave her a smile of his own, even though she didn't see it. "Sweet dreams, yeah."
I can't believe I wrote this! And it's so short, too! Oh well… I was bored late at night again… I got this idea during a bad thunderstorm while watching DeiSaku AMVs :D Well, I hope you enjoyed! And don't forget: R&R!
