I Must Be Dreaming
How can I pretend that I don't see what you hide so carelessly?
She watched. She saw everything. She saw every waking moment of it. The way it happened. The tragedy.
I saw her bleed. You heard me breathe & I froze inside myself and turned away. I must be dreaming.
How is this true? It can't be. Not real. She couldn't close her eyes and make it go away. It was permanent. Like a scar.
We all live. We all die. That does not begin to justify you. It's not what it seems. Not what you think. No, I must be dreaming.
It felt like years. Maybe even longer. Coursing guilt and disease through her veins.
It's only in my mind. Not real life. No, I must be dreaming.
She only awakens to find that it's not real. Her mind is playing with her thoughts and emotions. She drifts asleep again. Only to see another petrifying sight.
Help, can though I've got to tell someone. Tell them what I know you've done. I feel you, but spoken fears can come true.
It's back. The darkness. She's there again. Forced to watch, again. The whole thing haunts her mind. The guilt slowly eating her alive.
We all live. We all die. That does not begin to justify you. It's not what it seems. Not what you think. No, I must be dreaming.
It's only a dream! She wakes one more time to find it was just another dream. She tried to keep awake, but sleep comes upon her before she can even think.
It's only in my mind. Not real life. No, I must be dreaming.
She watched one more time before it all ended. She's now considered an accessory. She'll risk it for him. So they can be together. He had to do it and she understands and is ready to face the consequences that come with love.
Real stupid, but I just needed to write some kind of poetry
