"Why do you do it?"

There are ghosts that haunt every person. Souls and whispers of old mistakes, stalking the living with old promises and threats. There are lessons learnt through experience and history - some lessons are indelibly memorised, and others are quickly forgotten - but the teachers will deliver their message. Their warning.

Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone has skeletons buried within the closet - nightmares in the night that are more real than dream. Everyone has memories that they close their eyes to and try to pretend never happened - never could happen.

There have always been ghosts. They shift in the corner of our eyes as we walk through life, standing behind us in every mirror, appearing before us just when we think that we've finally forgotten them. Their tears and blood runs over our hands and stains our skin, impossible to wash away. Their last words and screams echo in our ears long after their breath has gone silent, returning back through our dreams until we're almost mad.

"I have my reasons."
