Hello, birthdaypi here, I have been on hiatus for a while, and there are many reasons for that, but I shall not bore you with the details.
Here is my majorly rewritten story, set after the first defeat of the overlord, yet it is nothing like Rebooted.
~Prologue ~
Sensei Wu paced around the room, knowing there was only one explanation, and only one thing to do. But how would the boys react? And how did he know for sure if his hunch was correct?
He heard the ninjas laughing and teasing each other. He saw Nya walking past his window. He knew what to do, and how to go about it.
~Chapter 1~
Zane's pov
I could tell something, odd, was concerning Sensei. He had been rather odd, I sensed something is on his mind, but his wisdom surpasses my own. I am sure it will all be alright, if something were wrong, he would tell us. I am sure of it.
"Zane? Zane!" I heard Jay's voice and came back to my senses, Jay was taking Nya out for dinner tonight, obviously wanting to impress her, and wanted my opinion on what attire he should wear.
"I sense Nya would like option 'A' better" I replied smoothly, not wanting Jay to become even more nervous than he already was.
"Thanks Zane! Well, she should be ready now, our reservation is in half an hour. Did I tell you I'm taking Nya out to the fanciest restaurant 'The Peacock'?" Jay hadn't, how do I say this kindly, 'shut up' about it for the past 2.4 days.
"Yes, Jay, I distinctively remember you constantly informing us. Now, please brother, try to calm down and enjoy yourself!" I tried to sound excited for him, so he would feel more relaxed about the whole thing. He is still as anxious when it came to Nya as he ever was.
Nya and Jay are now officially a couple, Kai has recognised how they feel about each other and has been very considerate about the whole thing. He knows Jay would never purposely hurt her.
Nya has even become an equal member of the team, showing great skill and strength as a warrior. She sometimes comes and assists us as we attempt to defeat the serpentine. They are still out there, terrorising Ninjago one city at a time.
Though they are still an issue for us, the Overlord is completely and definitely defeated. Now Lloyd and his parents are travelling around Ninjago, rekindling their family bond.
We miss him terribly, but we hope he is having a marvellous time. I, myself, have never really had a family, my father having moved back to Birchwood forest, but I am still happy for Lloyd.
After snapping out of my thoughts, finding myself alone in the room. Noticing Jay having left to change, I went to prepare for dinner.
Cole's pov
I groaned as I hit the punching bag, training is where I feel the most at peace, even though it can be quite violent. Sadly I have been feeling as though something is missing from inside me, something that for some reason, makes me feel… lonely? I don't quite know how to describe it. But I don't think the detachment from the rest of the world helps. Being a ninja on board the bounty is like living in a bubble, I'm out of touch with Ninjago. The only time I have a normal conversation with a normal person is when I make small chat which the check-out people at the supermarket! No, seriously! And that's not even the worst of it, I-
"What are you doing?" I turned to see Kai standing in the doorway, his face clearly showcasing his aggravation.
"Training, why?" I asked, obviously confused, ignoring his seemingly eternal look of annoyance. I honestly don't know how the guy does it, I swear he only has two facial expressions, an angry one, and one confident smirk.
Having had my thoughts interrupted for the second time within thirty seconds, I unstrapped my bound knuckles and fingers, grabbed a towel to wipe my sweat-covered forehead and gave Kai my full attention.
"I've been calling out to you for at least five minutes to tell you that dinner's ready, you okay?" Kai asked, his brow creased in question.
"Kai, if I didn't know you better, I would've thought you were concerned about me." I said, mocking him, trying to lighten the mood. It seemed to work, as Kai's expression changed to his classic smug grin.
"Heaven forbid." He joked, before turning and surely walking out of the room, not even turning back to check if I followed.
Which I did.
Jay's pov
"Yes, Jay, I distinctively remember you constantly informing us. Now, please brother, try to calm down and enjoy yourself!" Zane said calmly, yet smiling.
After changing, I walked out of our room with a smile on my face, and wearing a tux, a pretty spiffy one at that if you ask me. As soon as I opened the door I practically walked straight into Kai. I looked up and noticed Kai holding back laughter at Zane's choice of clothing. I just glared at him, knowing nothing was wrong with what I was wearing.
"Did you just come here to laugh, or was there an actual reason for coming here?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at the emotional volcano that was before my eyes. Swallowing his insistent giggling, he replied.
"Well, surprisingly I wasn't actually here for you, I was wondering where Zane is." I searched his face to see if he was serious, or if he was continuing to tease me. Not quite coming to a conclusion, I answered truthfully.
"He left to make dinner a while ago, why do you need him?" I continued to prod for answers. Never satisfied, it seemed.
"Never mind, I was just wondering if he had begun to make dinner, 'cause I'm starving!" Kai exaggerated, putting a hand to his stomach as if it just rumbled, though I heard nothing.
"Anyway, don't have too much fun!" He continued, patting me on the back before walking in the opposite direction. I suspiciously gave him one more glance, unconvinced, then walked to Nya's room.
Nya…
Nya and I are now dating and I am slightly more comfortable around her, I think we make a really good team, too! She's just so perfect, but she seems to really like me!
Before I knew it, I was right outside Nya's door. It took me a couple of seconds to prepare myself, but then I finally knocked on her door. And hoped for the best.
Later that evening
Nya's pov
After our very nice outing to 'The Peacock', Jay took me to the park. We just walked and talked, about everything and nothing. Not that the conversation wasn't flowing, it definitely was. I think now we're dating, he's more relaxed. Which is obviously good, he's lost his need to put up a cool act when around me.
After we got back to the bounty Sensei asked to see me in his room.
I walked into my room, removed the earrings I was wearing, and changed into my normal clothes. I hope dinner went well, though I'm guessing it did since Zane made it. I'm even a little sorry I missed it, walking past the kitchen I could smell the chicken and asparagus lasagne the others had for dinner. If I wasn't already full, I might have gone in and looked for left-overs.
As soon as I found myself outside Sensei's room, I knocked, heard an "Enter", and opened the door.
Sensei's pov
As soon as Nya and Jay arrived back, I asked to see her in my room. When she came I ushered her in, and she sat down with a curious look in her eyes.
"Yes, Sensei, what did you want to talk about?" she asked, not even the edge of the mouth wrinkling. Ah, youth. Thank goodness they don't know how old I actually am. I have this beard to help hide my age, looks can be deceiving.
"This ship is far too chaotic and messy. We also need all the time possible to train and practice spinjitzu. We need a housemaid, or, rather, shipmaid. Go to this address, and bring her back to the bounty. That is all." Yes, that is all I told her, not the plan, just that.
I immediately sat down to meditate, the spirit smoke will tell me all I need to know.
Deep in Ninjago City
Nya's pov
As I made my way to the given address, I pondered over the details. Why did I have to go? Where did this sudden decision come from? Why not wait until the morning? Was it really that important, we've been doing just fine so far without a maid.
I finished contemplating my questions, concluding that I would find out when necessary. Thinking wasn't the task at hand, finding this maid was.
I wandered around for quite some time, getting lost in Ninjago City when it's pretty dark out isn't a great idea. I was practically jogging up and down each street and major road, frowning in focus. I needed to find this girl. Zephyrus Road? Yes!
I walked down the sidewalk, and found number 14. I walked up the few steps to the door, in the dark barely seeing the short front, barely noticing the way the tall building seemed to lean over you protectively, shielding you from the large city and barely sensing where the door actually was.
When I found it, however, I raised my finger and applied force to the doorbell.
