These Last Few Moments
written for Sabastian's Kat
I will admit, I am crying once more
because all I see are those locked doors
The meaning, the love, the feelings
are all now bleeding
Naru looked down at the girl in front of him. The red liquid spilled out all around her, surrounding her in nothing more then a red abyss. Her smooth skin grew paler and paler every minute that he watched, every minute he waited for her to move. None of this felt real. None of this felt as if it was happening. It felt like nothing more then a faded memory; one that he wanted to bury itself back in the depths of his mind.
I see your face
and remember this place
where everything was once bliss
and that one, soft kiss
Naru reached out and touched her pale face, moving slowly; afraid she would brake under his touch. How did this happen? How did everything end like this? As his finger brushed her cheek, her brown eyes opened slightly. They turned towards him slowly, the energy slowly fading from them. Why was this happening to her? Why now? He had finally wrapped his arms around something precious to him, and it was now being taken away.
Looking back upon my past mistakes
I realize the insanity it takes
to have done everything wrong
and to have missed it all along
Naru watched as her now pale lips tried to move to say something, but the voice she had once had was lost, and there was nothing more then the movement of her cracked lips. He shook his head slightly as he reached over and put his hand on hers, entangling their fingers. He did not want her to speak and waste energy on something so pointless. As long as she kept her heart beating, just for a little longer, he would be happy.
No matter how long it will take
I will make sure you wake
This never ending dream
Is all but what it will seem
Naru listened as her breathing grew sharp and rough as she tried to take the air around her in. The blood from her wound had somehow traveled to her lungs and was now currently filling them. He closed his eyes and squeezed her hand, listening, waiting for the noise that he knew would save her, but there was nothing in this silent air. He did not reopen his eyes until he heard a soft noise. Looking down, Naru found a tear sliding down her cheek as she looked up at him. He wanted to stop it. He wanted to stop the tears that were filling her eyes. But he knew he could not.
I can't take back what I did before
But I pray that time will give us more
Though I promise you
That this was not all I wanted to do
Naru squeezed her hand once more before smiling to her. He did not want her to cry, but he knew that she had every right. There was no hope left. She was already too far gone. Even if they arrived in time, there was never any guarantee. Naru closed his eyes as he took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, but it did nothing for him. He opened them again to see that she was staring up at him with afraid eyes. Naru knew she knew what he was thinking, but he could do nothing more for her or the pain that she felt. All he could do was sit there and watch in these last few moments.
Hey guess who? That's right! I am a figment of your imagination! Congrats! I am here to give you this depressing story that I wrote for Sebastian's Kat! I hate poetry, and I want to kill it so bad, so if this poem sucks you know why!^^ So I hope you enjoy it anyway!
