Clark sat down in his loft in the barn. Lois was off in New York for a summer of journalism. He and Lois werent doing so great these days. It was more awkward then romantic. Despite the feeling they shared. They were just so used to being friends. Rather than lovers.

Clark sighed and picked up a box of random stuff from high school. He rambled through and found his old class ring. He tossed that to the side and picked up pictures. Him and Pete, Chloe then he picked up a picture of him and Lana at their prom. She looked so beautiful

"We look so young and innocent huh?" A soft voice came from the stairs.

Clark turned around to see Lana. He didnt feel hurt, like he should. He didnt feel the kryptonite like he should have. She looked beautiful. Her hair just below her shoulders. With a slight curl to them. Her eyes were shining. And Clark could feel his heart pound just from her beauty

"Lana." Clark said amazed. He went to go hug her. But quickly came back. Remembering it could kill him.

Lana saw what Clark was doing in curious eyes

"Clark, dont worry. I cant hurt you." Lana said walking up to him

Clark looked confused

"But I thought you were.... asorbed in kryptonite? That can kill me."

"Its gone now. The powers were great and everything. But knowing that I would never be able to see you, come near you, touch you, I couldnt stand."

"So its gone? Just like that?"

Lana nodded.

"The doctor that put me in this suit, helped me out of it."

"I thought it was unreversable."

"Thats what I thought too. But he found a way around it. It was risky. But I had nothing to lose."

"Lana you risked your life! You cant do that! You could of died! " Clark exclaimed.

Lana chuckled

"I know. But im here arent I? Besides you risk your life everyday"

"Thats different."

"I know. But I had to be brave. I couldnt bear to not see that beautiful face again." Lana said reaching up to stroke his cheek

Clark wanted her so bad. To have her again. But he couldnt. He was with Lois, it wasnt right.

Clark took Lana's hand a pushed it away. Lana looked at him confused

"Lana dont...."

"Why?"

"Because. Im...... im with someone else."

Lana swallowed the lump that developed in her throut.

"Who?" Lana managed to say

"Lois."

"Oh," Lana said tears budding in her eyes. She should of known he was going to have someone else

"Well I guess I better go." Lana said turning around and almost running down the stairs

"Lana wait!" Clark said running after her. And grabbing her arm.

Lana was in tears now. She didnt want Clark to see her like this.

"Lana, I want to. So bad. But you know its wrong." Clark said cradling her face in his hands. Wiping away her tears

"I know, I was just hoping..." Lana started to say but was cut of by Clark's kiss

"Lana I love you. I have since I was in high school. Everyday since you left I was hoping something like this would happen. And it did."

"But what about Lois? What about her." Lana whimpered.

"I love her. I do. But not as much as I love you. Lana, what I feel for you, is untouchable. You can't hide it. I can't hide it."

"I love you so much. Please, please just love me in return."

"Lana I just told you I do love you."

"Love me. Be with me. Not Lois." Lana spoke looking down at her feet

"Okay." Clark cradled her face in his hands. "Your beautiful."

Lana stroked his cheek. His skin felt like fire agaisnt hers. She missed it. She missed that feeling.
