She gave a soft sigh, placing the briefcase by the banister. Making her way to the kitchen, all she wanted was a quick snack, maybe a glass of wine and then sleep. Not even bothering with the lights she made her way to the cabinet, pulling down a glass and the bottle of red. Before she could turn around, hands had come up behind her and a familiar presence surrounded her from behind.
"Guess who."
A smile came over her. "I thought you couldn't get away?"
Turning around she faced the town Sheriff, the hands covering her eyes moving to encircle her waist.
"Yea, well, a little bird told me it was a special day today. And by little bird, I mean Henry."
Giving a small laugh, Regina moved forward to rest her forehead against the blonde's. "Thank you, this is great, considering I didn't think I'd see you today."
"No way was I going to miss this. And look, I brought cake." Emma motioned to the counter. With a raised eyebrow, Regina looked at the lone cupcake and then back to the woman who still held her in the circle of her arms.
"Hey, this is a magical cupcake. It's from the same place I got that cupcake I had on my birthday last year. I figured if that cake somehow gave me the two best things in my life, why shouldn't you get a magical wish too?"
The Mayor's eyes were surprisingly wet as she set down the wine and glass. Turning back to the blonde, she gave her a tight embrace. "I love you."
With a quick, heartfelt kiss Emma whispered back, "Love you too."
