Through Toto's Eyes – Chapter 1
It was a hot blistering day in Kansas. Dorothy, a pretty girl with black hair was sitting on her auntie's porch with a little black dog sitting on her knees.
"YAP YAP YAP. Yaip yip yap yayaya. Ruff yip!", complained the little dog.
"Oh, Toto! It is a very slow day! What do you suggest we do?"
"Yip yip," scarcastically remarked Toto.
"Oh, Toto! Hide and go seek? What a wonderful idea!"
The girl stood up, dusted off her pretty blue dress with the white apron that the girl absolutly refused to take off. Then she picked up Toto, who she had to put down to stand up. The little dog watched over these proseddings and tried to rip out of the girl's hands before they could get to the corn field.
"YAP YAPPY YIP, YIP!" Toto bellowed as he attempted to jump out of the evil girl's mighty grasp.
"Oh, Toto! Aren't you excited?"
For the next half hour, Dorothy and Toto played in the corn field. Dorothy would try and get the pup to run around while the dog yapped wildly.
"YAP! YAP! YAP YAPYAPYAPYAP!"
"Oh, Toto! Are we not having a lot of fun? I love hide and go seek!"
"YAP! Yap. Ruff ruff, yip! Yip, yap."
Before they could both get enough of playing in the sun, Dorothy heard her aunt and uncles cries of tornado.
"Dooooooroooothy!" Cried the aunt.
"Dorothy!" Bellowed the uncle.
"Oh no, Toto! What do you think it could be?"
"Yip. Yap yap, yip." Toto looked toward the horizons to emphasise his point.
"DOROTHY" Snapped the uncle, "Come fast, a tornado is brewing!"
"Oh, no, Toto! A tornado!"
"Dorothy! Please come to the hiding spot now!" Pleaded the aunt.
Seeing his hance, Toto dashed into the abandoned house. However, Dorothy was quickly on his tail, pun intended, and ran after the poor pup.
"No, Toto! Do not go into the house! It is too dangerous!"
"DOROTHY!"
"Doorothy! No! Leave the poor beast!"
"Come back Toto!"
""
Toto dashed throught the house all the way to the back room, Dorothy's. Sencing Dorothy behind him, Toto lept undearneeth the bed as a last chance for freedom for freedom.
"YAAAAAP"
"Toto! No! Do not jump under my bed! I won't be able to reach you!"
The worried, muffled shouts of Dorothy's aunt and uncle were the last things to reach their ears before the huricane hit.
"Oh Toto! What do you think happened? I know that we were in a tornado..." Dorothy lifted herself off of the floor. She looked around. Everything look the same... And yet, everything was different.
"Really? You know that, do you? Well I'm surprised! I didn't think there was anything going around in that thick skull of yours." Toto reluctantly climbed out from underneath the bad. Immediately, Dorthy's tallons grabbed him and pulled him close.
"Come on Toto! Let's go look at where we are."
"Um, yeah okay. Not that I have much of a choice do I?" Toto said, as he hang limp from Dorothy's arms.
"Oh!" Dorothy gasped as she saw her surounding. Vibrant colors, flowers and multicolored houses greated her. "Toto, I don't think we are in Kansas anymore!"
"Really? What gave you that idea? Could it maybe be all the tiny short purple people?"
