Prompt by castleismyoneanddone:Rick and kate meet somewhere differently than the 12th but it's not at a coffee shop or book signing.

"Kate where are you going?"

"I won't be long, just need a minute, you get on the ride" Kate smiled at her friend and turned to walk away.

Kate knew this had been a bad idea she didn't know why she had agreed to go to the amusement park that had set up for the week. At the time she thought it would be fun. But as it turns out she couldn't stop thinking about her mother taking her to carnivals.

She wasn't really paying attention to where she was going, but she was still surprised to actually walk straight into someone.

It was a miracle that the three ice creams he was holding didn't all end up on her.

"Sorry," looking closer at him, her heart stopped a bit. Wondering if it was a curse or a blessing that she had just run into her favorite author, Richard Castle.

"No problem beau-."

There must have been a look on her face because he stopped and looked concerned. "Hey, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just not having that much fun," Kate told him. She bit her lip, wondering whether to tell him that she knew who he was.

"We can't have that, seriously amusement parks and happiness go together, you wouldn't want to make the cosmic balance shift would you?"

She laughed, actually laughed, feeling so much better since the moment she had arrived. Kate had a feeling he was just babbling a bit of nonsense to try to get her to smile. She really appreciated it, and maybe even more than appreciated it, considering who he was.

He handing her an ice cream cone saying how one was for his daughter and the other two were for him.

"I'm Rick."

"Yeah I know who you are," She said a bit teasingly. She felt really at ease with him. Kate knew she had made a good decision when his answering smile reached his eyes.

"An adoring fan huh?"

Kate rolled her eyes at him

"Something like that."

"Well , if you would like to join us we are going to rise the scariest roller coaster we can find."

It was so easy, she didn't even think about it, she said yes.
