Duality

A poem about the relationship between Kurama and Karasu. This is not a pairing, but does contain a onesided interest of that sort from Karasu's point of view. This poem is a trick though. See if you can figure it out before you get to my note at the end.

Duality

My patience begins to writhe

I'm submerged in searing pain

As I wait for this moment

When his skin is touching mine

I know this should never happen, but

My body betrays me and

The truth remains, though I shouldn't feel

The numbness in my limbs,

Or concern myself with pity

This weakness, becomes my bane

For those who cannot survive

Feeling fear in its truest form

Are the most enjoyable kind of prey

This is more than I can take

I can't contain my pleasure

Silent desperation is setting in

He's just so beautiful when

His gaze is locked with mine

It's his eyes I covet most of all and

Those piercing daggers

They look at me so passionately

Revealing what he plans to do to me

I understand your reluctance

I will put an end to this soon

But first I must love you

And the only way I know how is

This poem explores the relationship between Kurama and Karasu. The strong homosexual undertones are due to my belief that Karasu is (morbidly) infatuated with Kurama. I don't 'ship' them though.

My advice is to read the entire poem once through (which I think you've done by now) then read each kind of line as a separate poem. Read all the non-talicized lines together and all the italicized lines together.
