She never knew when exactly she felt something more towards him. She never knew when she started to view him differently. He was only a "name" then, but she was very fond of him. Maybe, it was because of the kind heart he possessed. On their first meeting, she already felt an attraction towards him. She then started to talk about him to her betrothed. Little did she know, it was the start of the ruin of her feelings towards the man she's about to marry, and the beginning of a deeper emotion for that man who caught her off-guarded.
True, she felt his importance in her life that she even tended his wounds, took care of him and stood by his side. She never wanted him to leave, giving a reason of logical understanding. But deep down, she knew, she couldn't bear to have him get hurt or wounded without her knowing.
She gave him a gift that only she can give…finally sealing what she really felt towards him. And on that eventful day, she gave him her important belonging – a ring that symbolized her most sincere feelings.
As he set off, though her heart was against it, she can't do anything more but to look at his back and hold on to his promise. Worry took over her upon seeing that big flash of light. Fear struck her upon hearing that thundering sound. She leaned on against the window, hoping for the most favorable outcome. His unruly hair, his purple-lit eyes, his lean complexion – those kind features – she remembered them all. In her heart, she was afraid of what happened to him but somehow she still believed, he'll still come back…come back to her just as he promised.
The sight of him caused a leap in her heart. Relief? Definitely, but the danger's not over –not yet…
He stayed with her on that calm and peaceful place where children's laughter can be heard. He remained quiet – mostly drifting to some place. Except in times of playing and looking after the orphans, he was alone. The fighting wearied him, ate his energy even his very self. The war took him wholly and he suffered for it dearly. Yet he found comfort in that place. No – maybe not the place, but rather the people living in it. True, the children warmed his heart but what he felt was something more – someone who warmed not only his heart, but mostly his very soul. From a distance, he could see a figure approach him. Then, he snapped. He finally realized, he finally understood…
They've been together for quite some time now yet she never really knew what he felt towards her. Surely, she knew what she felt towards him but he wasn't the type who voices out what he felt within him.
She approached him and made an excuse for it. But, she only did this just so she could spend some time with him. Even if he'd never speak a word, what mattered to her more was the fact that she's near him. Beside him, she felt safe. With him, she could not hide anything. In his presence, she felt she could do anything without shame. As she neared him, she saw him stare at her.
Why?
She tried to utter something but she was dazzled by his eyes – staring intently at hers. She felt something in them, warmth – but she never understood, fully what it was.
She felt herself loosen up. All her doubts, all her fears, wiped out in an instant. His eyes never left hers, as he stood up to face her.
She knew then and there…
She never really knew what he felt towards her. But it was only through his eyes did she realize, she meant something more to him - -
She became his everything.
