Chapter 1:
Mana sat on the balcony outside of the palace. The night chill washed over her and a shutter flew down her spine "You'll get sick if you stay out here" a voice came from behind her, Mana quickly turned her head to notice Atem standing behind her, he took off his cloak and handed it to her. Mana jumped off the ledge, took the cloak and kissed Atem on the cheek, he blushed. Mana happily skipped inside, heading to her room on the other side of the palace, leaving the cloak on a table. The Egyptian nights were bitterly cold so Atem hurried to go to sleep, but he just sat up thinking about the kiss Mana had given him, even though it had only been on the cheek he thought it was special. As Atem couldn't sleep he decided to talk to his high priest Seto, he called him to his chambers and they just lightly chatted, it was awkward, so Seto decided he should go to sleep but then he had suddenly remembered something important he needed to tell the Pharaoh. He had seen him and Mana on the balcony and wanted to warn him "You will get hurt" Seto exclaimed Atem looked at him astonished "what do you mean, it's not like she will cast me off for a more powerful man I am the pharaoh of Egypt" he was now frustrated and ordered Seto to leave. Seto humbly walked out the door but before he left he muttered "I didn't mean in that way she will interfere with your duty to this country" and walked off. Atem was so angry he just wanted to sleep but now he wanted to see Mana, but after the argument he had just had with Seto he decided it would be better if he didn't
