Jackson is my original character, but I don't own CSI.
Mild spoilers for 15x04, Book Of Shadows.
I loved everyone in Book Of Shadows, especially Greg and Morgan. So I wondered what Morgan would do after Mrs. Brewer's arrest. So here's what I came up with. Hope you enjoy! And please review!
Morgan arrived home after Mrs. Brewer's arrest and sighed deeply. All the woman wanted to do was save her son. Watching young Mason leave with Hannah, she saw resolve and strength in the young man's face. It made her think of her own son Jackson. Knowing her and Greg's little boy was loved and healthy gave her peace. She hoped Mason would be able to live a long, full life.
As she plopped her jacket and purse on the couch, she heard laughter in the kitchen. She smiled warmly and blinked back happy tears as she listened to her husband and son. Jackson blissfully unaware of the cases they worked as he laughed and talked with Greg was exactly what she needed.
Morgan walked into the kitchen and smiled as she saw Greg and Jackson singing and laughing as they made waffles and pancakes. Greg and Jackson held their spoons like microphones and sang, "It breakfast time!"
Greg smiled as Morgan came in. "Hey!"
Morgan kissed his cheek as Jackson said, "Hi, mama! We're rockin'!"
"I see that," Morgan said with a soft laugh as she kissed his forehead. "Looks like a great concert."
"I told him you'd be home for breakfast," Greg told her.
"An' we thought you needed banana pancakes!" Jackson added.
Morgan smiled. "That sounds good. I had a rough case."
Jackson frowned. "Are you okay, mama?"
"I'm okay, sweet pea," Morgan assured him with a warm smile. "I was kind of worried about a boy, not much bigger than you. But he'll be okay. He's got a friend taking care of him."
"Russell told me about the arrest," Greg said as he handed Morgan a cup of coffee.
Morgan sighed and looked at Jackson as he happily helped fix breakfast. "All she wanted was to save her son."
"Daddy, do you want extra bananas?" Jackson asked. "I good at mashing 'em!"
His parents smiled at the sweet boy who just loved being with his family. Morgan smiled. "I'd like some."
"Sounds good to me," Greg added.
Jackson happily stirred the batter and Morgan set the table. The family enjoyed breakfast and chatted about what they would do for the day. To them, it was a wonderful, normal breakfast.
The End.
