Hey, I'm still alive, but lazy as ever. :/ I'm still working on it, I promise. Hopefully I have a new chapter of To Be Real posted by the weekend. Blame school.
This was actually an English assignment, and it'll probably stay as a one-shot, but may turn into something else once Obsessions Are For Fangirls is finished. (When it's finished...)
Well, here we go!
Her lungs were screaming in agonizing pain as they pleaded for air. Her mind was racing, her limbs tangled in the rope-like tentacles. She had to get out of there before she completely ran out of air. Time was running out, and her efforts of escaping were futile. Deciding she was going to die any second, she decided to take in her surroundings that she would now perish in.
"Kaylana…"
At the sudden call of her name she opened her mouth and shrieked, the last of her air now quickly bubbling to the surface. 'Crap,' she thought, clearly angered with herself at her sudden reaction.
"Kaylana."
The male's voice she heard before was now even closer to her. Kaylana frowned, mostly in confusion as another tentacle wrapped itself around her waist, but didn't crush her. At the instant it touched her unclothed body, the water around her vanished, and air filled her tired lungs.
Kaylana collapsed onto the ground, her head spinning madly. She closed her eyes, and minutes after, she reopened them. The sight before her was appalling. Numbers gathered in long strands floated lifelessly around her.
"Kaylana."
There was that blasted voice again! She swore that it sounded almost eager as it continued to speak to her.
"Look at me."
Kaylana squinted as the strands began to glow brighter and brighter in the darkness, the sudden white light temporarily blinding her. She looked in the general direction of the voice, half expecting a man to appear next to her. Instead, a number strand wove itself into the figure of a human. Next, the glowing white number were replaced with skin, hair, and other elements of the human body.
The taller male figure stood in front of her, a small but loving smile moving its way to his graceful and delicate features; the same smile her brother had once given her… when he was still alive.
The young teenager held a quivering hand over her mouth, fresh salty tears gliding off her pale cheeks.
Her brother, Gregory, placed a hand on Kaylana's shoulder. "Kaylana, we need your help." After the words were spoken, silenced reigned over the dark space once again, but this time the other strands fused together to form at least one thousand other human, and non-human beings.
One of those non-human beings stepped forward, kneeling down to look at Kaylana. This… alien took the form of a massive robotic… male? Kaylana looked between the robot and Gregory, confusion evident in her facial expression.
"My help? How can I be of any help?"
The robot stood up straight, at least reaching twenty-five feet in stature. "The Fallen shall rise again…" The words trailed off into the silence, until Gregory finished the robot's statement.
"…and you're the only one who can stop him. Don't let him destroy Earth."
With that said, the image of her brother vanished along with the other humans and non-biological organisms in the enclosure.
Kaylana instantly woke from her dream, beads of sweat collecting on her overheated skin.
'The Fallen shall rise again…' The words echoed in Kaylana's ears as she looked up at her ceiling.
The Fallen. She had to stop The Fallen. Why was she the one who had to stop him? Better yet, how was she going to stop him? Kaylana rolled onto her side, clutching het stomach tightly. She wanted to purge.
The Fallen… was nothing more than a fictional character. She cried, her chest heaving with her rapid and heavy gasps. That robot who talked to her…
…was Optimus Prime.
