A Small Encounter in the Library
Tsukaki (again)! \(./^/.)/ I can't help but write a one-shot about this too. The idea just came to me today. I came up with it and wrote it and finished it on the same day! By the way, this is super short and to be honest, I was kind of rushing this. But yay, none the less! Yay!
Disclaimer: Nagi no Asukara and its character do not belong to the author although she wished she did so she could add more fluffy moments on Tsusaki.
Tsumugu had found it comfortable to spend his time at the library lately. He found the books stocked in this year to be very interesting. Especially the books on oceanography and the sea villages. He could not help but be engrossed in his reading every time he started with the first page.
One late afternoon after school, Tsumugu stopped in his tracks in front of the library and opted to stay behind. He nodded to the librarian before proceeding to his usual spot.
That day, he found one of his new classmates occupying his usual seat by the window. He tried to recall her name and it did not take him long. He briefly wondered why but kept it to himself.
When he neared her, he took in her features. She had deep blue sea orbs that could reflect the light, porcelain skin that shines as if it was made of glass, long dark purple tresses tied into a side ponytail. He thought she was the befitting image of a girl who came from the sea. He stopped at the edge of the table and laid his hand on the table beside her elbow.
The girl looked up when she felt his presence. "Oh, Kihara-kun."
She remembered him. He felt the urge to stare at her. "What are you reading?"
She glanced at her book before closing it with her finger in between the pages, the book lifted slightly for him to see the cover. He leaned in and read the title.
Sea Salt for Medical Purposes.
This time he could not contain the urge and stared at her.
"What?" She lifted her eyebrows at him.
It took him a few seconds before he shook his head. He found it surprising for the girl to have an interest in medical and health. He thought she was the type to consider a teaching or care-taking career. Then again, that was just his impression of her.
He imagined her working at the closest hospital, Hiradaira Chisaki five or six years later. It did not prove to be difficult to picture her. He looked at her eyes and found himself drowning in her orbs. Edogawa and Sayama had been keeping their eyes on her and he had to agree with them. She was beautiful.
He realised at the last minute that he had to help his grandfather that afternoon. When he glanced up to look at the wall clock, he let out a low hum at the time. 4:15 p.m. He should be at home ten minutes ago.
He retreated back and let his hand that was resting beside her elbow fall back to his side. "I've got to go."
She nodded and waved at him, her smile at the end managed to get him to flash her a small smile of his before he was out of the library.
