A/N: This is dedicated to Kathleen, who inspired this poem with her awesome post on LJ. I would imagine it was written sometime pre "Lover's Walk," but yeah, that's just my own personal fanwank. I tried to keep the rhyme scheme close to the only poem known to have been written by William.

The Wanton Follies of Me Mum

She delivered me from the gloom.
It couldn't have come a moment too soon.
Into the night, from her womb
Showed a new world to behold—
Beauty, strength and betrayal untold.
Believed we were the others sole,
But wanton follies she did retain.
Revived me from a life mundane,
Then sought other passions
And became my bane.
