Man's Best Friend
Kurt, feeling remarkably lonely for the fifth time that day, walked slowly towards home. He shuffled his feet, staring only at the ground and nothing else. His head was buried in his shoulders, the wind whistled violently around him, turning his ears and cheeks bright pink. He brushed aside a tear, the overwhelming loneliness crushing him.
The winds began to die down, allowing him an opportunity to find shelter. The rain still fell in buckets, providing a perfect cover. Kurt ran under an overpass and sat on the ground, his tear turning into a sob. He hugged his knees, perfectly manicured nails digging into them. Goosebumps popped up along his arms and he shivered violently, his breath shuddered.
He thought this was a perfect time. He pulled open his backpack and took out a small container. He popped it up and took a razor out, a small, easily concealable razor. He ran his finger along the edge, small droplets of blood popping up from where his skin made contact with the metal. He cried softly, and pressed the razor to his wrist, barely pressing. He inhaled sharply and was about the drag it across his skin when something caught his eye.
He sniffed and looked over to the commotion. A few cardboard boxes shifted, a small animal growl came forth. Kurt attempted to forget it, focusing on the task at hand. He slowly dragged the razor across his wrist, lightly at first. A small animal attacked him. Well, not attacked, but jumped onto his lap. A small puppy, black curly fur, adorable hazel eyes and uniquely shaped "eyebrows." This small puppy licked his wrist gently and nuzzled into Kurt's lap, barking playfully at him.
Kurt laughed tearfully and brushed the puppy's fur. It growled playfully and rolled over onto his back, exposing his curly haired stomach. Kurt smiled, a full blown smile, and held the puppy tightly. He hugged it tight to him, looking carefully at him. His fur was very thick, tight curls all over. He was very soft and enthusiastically licked his cheek.
"Hi little puppy." Kurt smiled. The puppy barked happily and buried himself into Kurt's neck. Kurt laughed, pushing the puppy away. The rain let up, the sun began to shine again. Kurt picked up the puppy and held him tightly to his chest, smiling happily.
"Come on, Blaine." he said, walking home, happy for the first time in years.
