Author's notes: This story is a short one-shot that I wrote while I was listening to the song "Sorry seems to be the hardest word" by Elton John. The idea came to me as I thought how difficult is for us apologize for our mistakes. Everyone has their own theory about the reason, but that's not the point. What I want to show is that saying I'm sorry can help both people in the argument, not only the one offended but also the offender. I'll use Ichihime pairing because they are so perfect for each other!
Summary: One day on their married life, they find out that living happily ever after, isn't as easy and magical as it sounds
Disclaimer: I don't own neither the series Bleach nor the characters Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue.
Sorry is a hard Word
'I really don't know what's wrong with him! I used to read him like a book and now it feels like he has totally closed.' Orihime thought as she cooked the dinner.
In the next room, there was an angry Ichigo sitting on the couch, zapping channels like crazy. 'I didn't do anything wrong, I just told her the truth, nothing more! I won't apologize because is not necessary.'
FLASHBACK
But Ichigo, Tina is a lovely name! Who wouldn't love that name!
Orihime, please just think about it. You are not completely sure if you're pregnant, don't rush things up. Why don't you choose a regular Japanese name and that's it! I'm sure that name came from your fantastic trip to US.
Oh Ichigo would you let that topic go already? I told you that I could never love any man as much as I love you! John was only a friend.
Yeah sure. He always gave you a kiss on the cheek like you were his freacking girlfriend!
That's because is part of the US culture! Well, I'm tired of this! I'm going to the kitchen to cook something American since I love John and I want to remember him!
Tch…Do whatever you please, I don't care anymore…
All the argument over a non Japanese name and a American boy. After a few hours, they went to their bedroom to get some sleep only to bump into each other with hard looks. They entered the room, changed into their pyjamas, and went to bed separately as a barrier was between them.
As they were not used to the lack of closeness and warmness, they had a hard time to fell asleep. Orihime has these weird nightmares of little blue men steeling Ichigo from her, she never having the opportunity to make up with him, screaming at the top of her lungs. On the other side of the queen sized bed, Ichigo dreamed about his mother's murderer, and suddenly, her mother turned into Orihime. He was sobbing violently, asking her not to leave him, that he was sorry, that he had never meant to hurt her.
Ichigo and Orihime moved and moaned so hard and noisily that they waked up at the same time; tears running down their cheeks like all they have dreamed was true. Turning to each other, they felt like apologizing a thousand times for what they have done. They saw each other with a worried and pained look, trying to soothe the other in order to feel better with themselves.
After looking into teary eyes, the married couple started to say sorry at the same time, making them stop for a while and think about their actions. They felt so stupid that they started to laugh at themselves realizing the stubborn they were.
Words weren't needed. They knew they were sorry and that was enough for them. They felt like a heavy weight was put off from their shoulders. Now they know the incredible meaning behind that word.
After all the fight they decided that the baby being called after his mother or her brother was much more suitable than any other name in the world.
The End
