Panda?
Disclaimer: I don't own anything of course. If I did, I would currently be at a bookstore buying a jubilee of books.
Author's Note: I got this idea from a strange conversation me and my brother had on the way back from a tournament. It's me and my brother after eating Chipotle and making cracks on like every character in Naruto imaginable, so it's gonna be a little weird. This is before the timeskip, by the way.

-!-!-!-!
"Last time we fought, you were faster and stronger than this."
"Not to complain, but you really did a number on me."
That small conversation had thrown a bunch of stuff into perspective. Gaara had nearly destroyed the bright young man's dream, the dream that he'd been working towards for years, nearly all of his life and certainly his entire shinobi career. Gaara sighed and knew he had to apologize.
-?-?-?-?
Lee blinked in surprise at the person crouching at his window. It was a rather familiar person, but it was also rather unexpected. Pushing the window open he eyed the person curiously.
"Gaara-kun? Is something wrong?" Lee asked as he stepped aside to allow the redhead inside.
Gaara fidgeted slightly, only a slight twitch of the fingers, but Lee's eyes caught it. The taller teen was interested. In the admittedly short time that the two had known each other, Lee had never once seen Gaara fidget. That must mean that this was something important.
Gaara opened his mouth before closing it again, biting his lip ever so slightly. "…I…wanted to…apologize for what I did to you. It…was wrong."
"You don't have to do that, Gaara-kun. It's alright, honestly."
Gaara shook his head a little. "No, it's not. I…almost took away your dream." Gaara held something out, avoiding Lee's eyes.
Lee looked at the object. Rather fluffy, splattered black and white with two button eyes. Lee smiled. It was a panda bear. Lee took it and leaned forward quickly and kissed Gaara gently on the cheek.
"Arigatou, Gaara-kun."
Gaara, however surprised he felt, only gave a small smile in return.
