Dakota High saw Francis Stone as nothing but a bully and a thug. The teachers feared him, and naturally, all of the kids were too. And for good reason. His bad attitude and violent temper made him unappealing to anyone with good sense. That was the way he liked it.
But there was more to him than what met the eye. Everyone has a story, and if they knew his, they might understand why he was the person he'd become. Because Francis wasn't stupid. He could stay out and party all night, prowl the streets after school, and slack off in class-and he still made decent grades. He was creative, he was smart, he was even caring and emotional.
Was. And something happened.
Now he was who he was. The only creative impulse he had was sadism. The only real feeling he could show was anger. It was nobody's business who he really was. Nobody needed to know how he felt. All they needed to know was that he was in charge. And there wasn't just one reason why.
But nobody needed to know that either.
