Masky tilted his head as he stared, blankly, at Alex. He made no move to attack him, not a single muscle in his body moved; nor was a voice heard, or words spoken into existence. He just stared at Alex, debating what to do about him being in his presence. Alex was frozen as well, more in fear than in curiosity. He was also rather confused about what to do, the gun was in his hand, however he had a feeling Masky wouldn't react very well to being shot at. Also, he knew that Hoody wouldn't be too far behind, and he couldn't risk being held back by that guy.

Alex swallowed, the hand that was holding the gun starting to shake. Masky just continued to stare at him, 'Probably smirking at me from behind that mask,' Alex thought, frowning. He turned to run off, and there was Hoody standing right behind him; the orange holes for eyes staring him down. Masky moved then, tackling Alex to the ground as Hoody stepped backwards. The gun clattered to the floor, echoing throughout the tunnel.

'This time, this time,'Hoody thought, pushing Masky off of Alex and picking the gun off the ground. He stood above Alex, a grin forming under his mask. Alex rested his head on the ground in defeat, not giving Hoody the victory of looking him in the eye as he killed him. Hoody pointed the gun at Alex's face, cocked it, and then… He couldn't pull the trigger.

It was stuck.

Hoody cursed, looking around and trying desperately to get the gun to unstuck. If the operator got there before he could kill Alex, he would have to book it out of there AGAIN and not get his objective finished. Hoody pressed the trigger, and it shot into the woods. Masky kept Alex pinned down as Hoody turned to face him again, grinning triumphantly under his mask. "This is the end for you, Alex Kralie," He said, the gun clicking as he prepared to shoot him. Alex looked away once more, in defeat, made too weak to move or fight back by Masky's attacks.

"Do it then," Alex snapped, looking back up at him.

The sound of the gun going off reverberated through the tunnel, it seemed to echo forever. Hoody's ears were ringing, and he shook his head to clear it. The ringing increased however, and grew louder, along with a shriek of either despair or anger. Masky pulled at Hoody's sleeve, gesturing with his hands that it was time to go. Hoody, however, couldn't move. The blood pooling around his feet seemed to hold him in place as the shrieking increased in volume. It was close, the operator was close.

Masky slapped Hoody across the face, trying to get him back to his senses and then started pulling him away from the scene quickly. He wasn't going to let Hoody die, not on his watch at least. Masky continued to pull Hoody away, the shrieking dying down and disappearing. They stopped at a tree, and Hoody took a big, gasping, breath.

"We almost, it almost," He breathed, as if he hadn't had oxygen in his system for hours. He looked over at Masky, removing his mask and flipping his hood down. "You should've left without me," He snapped, "You dunno what that faceless freak would've done,"

Masky just shrugged and gestured in Hoody's general direction, probably trying to say, "You're alive, I'm alive, aren't we both alive?"

Hoody rolled his eyes and ran a hand through his hair. "Alex is finally dead," Masky just nodded, "Finally," Hoody repeated, leaning back against the tree and closing his eyes.

"Now sleep," Masky whispered softly, almost breathlessly, as if his voice hadn't been used in months. "I'll watch, sleep,"

"Yeah,"
