Title: Fate and Circumstance
Disclaimer: I am but a twisted mirror of the original tree that was cultivated by J.K. Rowling
Summary: A H/D love story in verse.
Pairings: Harry/Draco

Warnings: Some awkward rhymes and meter perhaps. But it is the age of free form poetry, so...*shrugs*.

Fate and Circumstance......
Harry Potter came to town
slipped on ice and broke his crown
Draco Malfoy passing by
saw ol' Potter's vacant eyes
Right on the spot
He hatched a plot -
Potter will help turn his life around
Draco whisked Potter to his feet
Plied him with Malfoy charm and wit
Hid the truth and spun some lies
Told a stirring tale of entwined lives
Poor ol' Harry
Not as wary
Believed all of Malfoy's deceit
the Plot unfolds......
The wizarding world was abuzz
by news of the couple in various bars
Ron and Hermione flooed Malfoy Manor
suspicious of Potter's offbeat manner
But Harry seemed fine
with no labored signs
Malfoy had anticipated all they would ask
the inevitable Complication......
But Malfoy's glee could not last forever
Soon enough, Harry began to remember
Harry could not understand
the discrepance between now and then
Confused, he retreats
from Malfoy's entreats
Could all Draco said have been mere palaver?
Malfoy's countermeasure (aka Damage Control)......
Slytherin to the very core
Malfoy scoured his potion stores
With magic at his fingertips
Memory is a snap to fix
with one set dose
their past as foes
would be erased, and Harry would be his, though perforce
Harry, the stupid Gryffindor
How had he survived with a heart so pure?
Even riddled with doubts and uncertainty
Still smiles at Draco and accepts his tea
with a small smile
nescient to guile
He sinks for Malfoy's line and lure
But wait! Draco whips the cup away
Before a drop could go astray
His fingers tremble, his heart it hurts
to think of Harry dimmed and inert
And so the lies
meet their demise
Head bowed, Draco faces Judgement Day
And they lived .... (you know how it goes~)
Harry tilts Draco's face to his
Bestows forgiveness with one soft kiss
What began as purely selfish design
has clearly spurred a mutual find
Past enemies
Might now lovers be
with new discoveries and plain truth to please.
Narrator's take (and a Moral?)....
Black tresses, Golden locks
Serpent's cunning, Lion's heart
Ron may yell and Hermione lecture
all to no avail -
for fate itself has invoked
this twisted serendipity!
