That first day was so hectic it was a miracle in itself that Agatha even remembered that moment. Other scraps would stay in her memory: feeling her lion's controls come alive under her fingertips. Taking off into the sky with the rest of her team. Sophie gripping her hand tight as they flew into space; knowing she was deathly afraid of flying.

But the mere mention of that very first day only brought up one memory.

"How old is this castle, anyway?" Hester grumbled, looking up at the ruins of Planet Altea. "The wallpaper's peeling like a sunburn."

Sophie groaned. "No more gross metaphors for the rest of the day. I already feel sick from that space trip." She clutched her stomach.

Agatha smirked, looking back at her ragtag group of friends. Sophie and Hester were already arguing, Dot was also looking a little green from their flight, and Kiko was taking in the sun with a smile on her face.

"Should we go in?"

Everyone turned at the sound of Agatha's voice. Kiko shrugged in agreement, walking ahead into the castle ruins. Hester and Sophie split and followed behind. Dot walked with Agatha, stopping to admire the once-grand palace.

"What is this place, you think?"

Agatha pushed open the rusted door. "I'm not sure. Some kind of alien planet?" She ran her hands over the wallpaper, noting the faded design: a gold crest with a lion's head in the center. Underneath, a ribbon showed the family name and title:

The Pendragons of Camelot

"Camelot must have been their capital," she whispered. "But when did this destruction happen?"

Hester called out to the rest of the group. "Guys, look!"

In the center of the room there stood two giant pods, engraved in gold. The girls circled the structures, trying to figure out what they were. Agatha put her hand to the front of the pod, feeling the warmth of the material. It felt like a pulsing heart.

Someone's alive under there.

Suddenly, the pod glowed under Agatha's palm. She pulled back in surprise, watching as the material disintegrated to reveal the person underneath.

Sophie and Kiko gasped. Hester and Dot recoiled. Agatha turned red.

Standing in the pod, sleeping upright, was the most beautiful teenager they had ever seen.

He was tan and golden-blonde, and seemed to shimmer all over as if he was covered in glitter ("But in a manly way," Sophie explained to him later). His ears were long and pointed, and under his eyes there were small blue triangles- some kind of alien markings. The boy was dressed in a royal blue jacket, which was embroidered with small gold flowers. His breeches were clean and pressed white, and his boots were shined to a glimmer.

Everyone stood for a minute, just watching him- looking at the boy as if he was a painting. His eyes were closed, and his lips were slightly parted, as if in a deep sleep. Agatha studied him intently, as if in a trance.

And then he pitched forward.

Sophie shrieked, looking at Agatha helplessly. The other girls gasped. Hester laughed, probably hoping he'd fall and break his nose, mess up that pretty little face. Agatha stumbled forward, getting there just in time to catch the boy in her arms.

He smells good. She blushed.

The prince stirred and slowly looked up, locking eyes with the girl who was holding him.

Agatha suddenly felt extremely self-conscious of her unwashed dark hair, her bug eyes, her ratty hoodie. He stared at her, drinking in the surprise on her face.

Hester coughed. Agatha fumbled for words.

"Hi."

The boy blushed a little. "Hello."

He slowly stood up, stepping away from Agatha as he did so. Sophie flashed him her best look-at-me-I'm-a-hot-girl smile.

He cleared his throat. "I am Prince Tedros Pendragon, heir to the Camelot throne." The girls were dumbfounded. He tried again. "The future ruler of Altea-"

Hester barrelled past him. "So what's on this planet, anyway?"

Prince Tedros gawked at her. "Who are you?" He swung around to look at the girls. "What are you all doing in my castle?"

Agatha stepped forward. "We're teenagers from Earth. A giant mechanical lion flew us here. That's all we know." She paused. "I'm Agatha."

After that, she recalls the day as a blur- the assigning of the paladins, seeing her armor for the first time, and fighting off Rafal and his Galra army.

"That's it? That's what you remember?" said the boy, now a man. "That awkward moment when I fell out of the healing pod?"

Agatha turned red. "I cradled you in my arms! I'm going to remember that moment until the end of time, whether I like it or not."

King Tedros snorted and put his arm around her. "I guess it was pretty romantic."

His queen rested her head on his shoulder. "Yeah, it was."

He rested his hand on her lower back, and the two looked into the abyss of space together: Tedros and Agatha, king and queen, prince and paladin.
