Age 9
Naruto was walking down the street, distracted by the seemingly endless noise coming from the streets. He then saw the Hokage Tower, the kanji for 'fire' on its red walls. Naruto paused, his neck straining to look at the top of the tower. He saw the windows and the distant outline of his grandfather figure doing paperwork. People swerved around him, most used to his behavior. A light feeling of cramps and itchiness spread within the space between his shoulder blades. Naruto shrugged it off, assuming it was an effect of his already tattered clothing and lack of hygiene.
I should go take a shower soon.
With a new goal in mind, Naruto set off for the Hokage Tower. Before he could reach it, the pain in his back became worse, as if something was inside him, straining to get out. He began to silently whimper as the warm, sticky texture began to pour down his back. Many civilians gave him a wider berth due to the pointing shapes protruding from his back. The pain stopped, and Naruto checked to see the injury. What he saw shocked many, their mere presence creating confusion throughout the crowd. They were feathery, one being angelic white, the other being a demonic, raven-like black.
Naruto's eyes widened in shock, "W-Wings?!"
That was the last thing he spoke before passing out.
oOo
A set of warm arms carried him. Naruto blinked, still drowsy from the blackout. He saw that his wings were still there, and panicked. His arms and legs flailed around, not used to the extra weight. "Calm down," The new voice seemed young.
Naruto turned around to see a man with silverish hair, a mask, and a tantō strapped onto his back. The mask resembled a dog's face. Red markings spread from the cheeks and eyes of the mask. The rest was a white color. When Naruto leaned up to inspect the eyes of his rescuer, he could see mainly black.
"Inu-San?" Naruto remembered this man, he was the one who pursued him a few times during his pranks.
The man nodded, his mask sticking onto his face. Once they managed to make to the Hokage Tower, the Hokage rushed to get him private first aid. The nurses and the doctors treat him roughly or misdiagnose his injury on purpose in the hospital. The Hokage's wrinkled hands made a few seals, then he spoke.
"Mystical Palm!" Green light shone from the Hokage's hands, the ripped skin stitching itself back together. The bleeding stopped, and Naruto's wings fluttered. A few feathers flew through the air.
"Hokage-Sama, do you know the cause of this?" the ANBU operative queried.
"No," replied the Hokage, "But it may have been the cause of emotional damage, and his mother's bloodline."
"What do you mean?"
"The mental damage may have bothered it, and it messed with the inactivated bloodline genes."
Naruto watched the conversation with wide eyes, "You know my Kaa-San?"
The Hokage replied with a frown, "I'm sorry Naruto, but your mother and father have enemies, and if they catch word of you, they can capture you or kill you."
Naruto pouted, before piping up, "At least I can fly!"
"Naruto wai-"
Naruto attempted to move his new limbs, only to fly up and hit his head.
Hiruzen sighed, the boy was going to kill someone of a heart attack one day.
