Her eyes were set on the stone floor. She admired the intricate cracks and grey tones of the rock, but nothing could match the perfect slate of his eyes. He was perfect in many ways. She knew that he had been raised to be perfect. His posture. His clothing. His hair. Draco Malfoy had never been allowed to be an ordinary boy.
She lifted her brown eyes from the floor and watched the couples on the dance floor. Her date, Neville, had gone off somewhere to talk to the friends in his grade. She wasn't too disappointed. Neville was a very clumsy dancer, and far too eager to please her. He was more of a puppy dog than a date.
Her eyes fell to Draco and Pansy. She admired his catlike movements and his aloof aura. Every step he made while dancing was perfectly placed, and yet he looked as though he was in a completely different place. Unsmiling. Cold. She wasn't sure why it fascinated her so. Maybe because she had grown up in such a loving household, distance now seemed intriguing.
Shaking her head she tore her stare away from the pair. Neville had returned with a drink for her, a goofy smile plastered across his childlike features. She accepted and went about her night, only to dream about the boy of ice.
