The Child
Phone in TARDIS rang, Doctor answered it and heard River's voice.
"Hello, sweetie."
"Hello, River."
"Can you come over?"
"Sure. Where and why?"
"Just follow the signal." Doctor pushed buttons and turned levers while walking around the control console. "I want you to meet your child."
TARDIS almost crashed when Doctor heard the word "child". "My child?"
"Yes, sweetie, yours".
"You were pregnant? Why didn't you tell me?" Doctor sounded a bit annoyed and anxious of the fact that River hadn't told him that he was going to be a dad.
"I didn't tell you because I didn't want to scare you."
"I'm not scared," Doctor said trying to sound not afraid but failed it terribly.
"Sweetie, I know you're not," River said sounding frustrated but kept her voice down and calm.
"You're in Amelia's house?" Doctor confirmed when he saw the coordinates.
"Yes. I bought this six months ago."
"Okay… Have you been using the Vortex manipulator?! It's not good for the baby."
"No! Only once, before I knew I was pregnant".
"Good. I'm landing now. We'll see soon," Doctor said and hung up the phone.
Doctor straightened his shirt and walked outside to the living room. He was a bit surprised of what River had done to the place. He liked it. River came in to the living room carrying the baby.
"Here is your daughter," River said and gave the baby to the Doctor.
"Girl? What a beautiful child!" Doctor smiled and took her in his arms. "You could have told me. I would have helped you."
"Yes, but the world needed you for these months, you should know that. I had to let the TARDIS to take you where she needed to."
Doctor stood and looked at River with a suffering look on his face.
"Don't look at me like that… She is mostly Time Lord. She has two hearts", River said pointing at the baby.
"Oh really?" Doctor smiled again and put his ear on the baby's chest to listen her hearts.
"Yes, and I've been thinking a name for her."
"Oh yeah? What?"
"Angela."
"Angela Song. Ooh, that sounds really good."
"I know."
"When was she born?"
"Yesterday."
Doctor sighed in delight.
River looked at Doctor and asked: "Where are we with the journal?"
"Oh. I took Clara home and I… Oh yes. Do you like my new face? I bet you haven't seen it yet."
"It's nice, looks good. And you know that Angela is going to look more like you before you regenerated."
"Yeah, yeah," Doctor said and took his journal from his pocket. He read the latest marking: "I regenerated, took Clara home and I fought with the Daleks. Now I have to take a picture of her and write this down on the journal. Do you have a camera? Mine is in the TARDIS".
"Yes, but I already took a picture of her. Here," River said and gave a picture of Angela to Doctor. "I have decided to live here for few years."
"Do you need me here?" Doctor looked worried and gave Angela back to her mother.
"No, I can handle her. Just come home often enough so she'll get to know you. Most important days are her birthdays and Christmases. You can't miss them".
"She'll have a better life than we did."
"True," River looked bleak, she remembered how she was raised to kill the Doctor and how she had to grow up without her parents.
"I'll come as often as I can," Doctor said and hugged River and kissed Angela on the forehead.
"I know," River said and kissed the Doctor.
Doctor smiled and went back to TARDIS. He opened the door and turned to his girls.
"Bye, my family," he thought to himself that everything will be alright, he was happy. He would take care of Angela and River. "Call me if you need help. I'll come immediately."
"I know. Bye."
Doctor waved his hand and disappeared in the TARDIS and soon the blue box was gone.
