DM Country Dancing
Despicableburg was going to have a country dancing contest very soon. Lots of people had signed up for it. The prize was a cruise ship all around the Caribbean. Edith thought the prize was as awesome as it could possibly be! Cruise ships were full of adventures!
But then even if she had entered the competition, who would want to dance with her? There wasn't many children in her class at school who liked dancing very much at all! ''That boy Antonio Perez who I meet is looking for a partner if you're interested, Edith'' said her big sister Margo helpfully.
Edith wasn't so sure if that was her idea of a partner, but it was better than nothing and not standing any chances to win the Caribbean cruise vacation. ''Yes er thanks Margo'' Edith said uncertainly.
Antonio himself was surprised to hear a little girl like Edith ask to be his partner in a dancing competition but he understood the fact that Edith wanted to go on the big cruise ship around the very sunny Caribbean.
Over the next few days and weeks, Edith practised her dance steps as hard as she could all day long. At last the big day was finally here. Antonio and Edith waited for their turn at Despicableburg hall to dance. At last they were eventually called by the dance teacher. Edith even demonstrated some of her finest, latest ninja skills! It took a long time to get through all of the contestants.
''Thank you very much everyone'' said one of the posh contestant judges ''you've all done so very well! But sadly there can only one lot of two winners''. Everyone including Antonio and Edith held their breath with anxiety.
''The winners are Antonio Perez and Edith Gru!'' the judge declared happily. Edith couldn't believe it ''Very interesting those ninja skills of yours thank you Miss Gru!'' The judge smiled.
When Antonio and Edith were lying on deckchairs on the Caribbean cruise. Antonio said ''You know what Edith? For a little girl. You weren't such a bad partner after all''.
''No I suppose not'' Edith agreed happily. It had tuned out for the very best, especially as she had won for her ninja dancing.
To Edith, she was in paradise, heaven in other words mind you. With the swimming pools and Jacuzzis and lots of great food and each day with a new adventure with a new place to explore. It couldn't be better!
