The turbo-lift slowed to a stop and its doors hissed opened. "Computer, lights." There was a beep and the lights quickly turned on.
"Oh, sorry. I didn't know repairs were still being done." A woman stood up from the Captain's chair. She was a little taller than a normal human female was. She had brown hair with blonde highlights, and brown eyes, most men find her attractive but only a few would even dare try asking her out; she wore a Star Fleet uniform, red undershirt and a grey and black jacket and a black slacks. Four pips curved with her neck revealing her rank.
"Captain!" The man stood up straight.
"At ease, Commander…" The woman smiled, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize repairs were still needed."
Kyle was average height, blonde hair, blue eyes and wore a similar uniform as the Captain, except he had three pips.
"Actually, Captain, I'm I mean I was the commanding officer of the Cascade." His eyes went over to the view screen and he smiled.
The Captain frowned a bit, "Something amusing, Commander Arrows?" He raised an eyebrow. "I've been going over the personnel records."
Kyle nodded, "I see."
"So, what's amusing?"
"Oh, sorry Captain…it's just, that view screen has been replaced many occasions. This is the few times it was just maintenance on." Kyle took off his smirk as he noticed the Captain wasn't amused. "Um, if you don't mind me asking, Captain…"
"Gibbson." She finished.
Kyle nodded, "Captain Gibbson, are you taking command of the Cascade?"
"Yes."
"Have you already chosen a first officer?"
"I'm still going through candidates." She sighed, "So why did you come here to the bridge?"
"Well," the young Commander slowly walked over to the helm, "I was just taking one last walk around the ship before I'm reassigned."
"What makes you think that?" the Captain sat in her seat.
"Well let's just say, I'm not the favorite among Star Fleet Command." Kyle smiled as he pretended to hit a few buttons on the helm.
She frowned at his comment, "So from what I've read from your record, you've been on the Cascade since you were an Ensign. Besides assisting other starshlps, you've never left the Cascade."
"You could say," He turned to the Captain, "I grew up on the Cascade."
"In that case…" She crossed her legs, "Tell me some of your adventures on the Cascade, Commander."
"For what reason, if you don't mind me asking." Kyle sat at the helm.
"I like to familiarize myself with the ship I've been assigned to."
"You could ask the Chief Engineer. He's been here longer only by a year."
The Captain glared at the Commander, "I rather take on the Romulan Empire."
Kyle chuckled, "I see. Well, where do you want me to start?"
"Tell me the major events that you and the Cascade have gone through."
"Alright…I just came out of Star Fleet Academy, a very young Ensign awaiting his new assignment…"
