Small prediction from chapter 424 on Grey's feelings. Don't critique, this is just ANOTHER VERSION.

Did I get that across?

Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail.

Grey Fullbuster was bored.

It was a bit too much to say that he had gone over to the dark side, it was more like an new loyalty to serve Zeref.

His dark marks didn't hurt, and he didn't feel it was a curse. but he did feel his memories slowly draining away. It was a pain, something that he couldn't control. Grey hated things that were beyond his control, that could not be reached. But his memories were slowly vanishing, and regaining them was not an option.

He remembered them, though. He was sure they would be the last to go.

Natsu.. Erza.. Juvia.. Master… Lucy.. Lucy.

He walked along the sidewalk, watching the flowers with frosty eyes. Reaching out to touch them, he flinched slightly as ice quickly entrapped the soft petal and turned it into a hard red-blue.

He looked down at his battle-hardened hands. How many times had his hands clutched victory and sometimes defeat, all at the mercy of his beautifully blue ice..?

Lyon, then that weird guy who made his ice melt, then that owl dude who Natsu got EATEN by..

That memory made Grey stifle a laugh in remembrance. All done with his friends, nakama, and family..

2 years. 2 years had passed from when Natsu had left. How strong was he now? It had been 2 years since he had felt Natsu's red dragon fire, burning with a passion that no one could copy. Erza's piercing magic as she fought her way through enemies. Wendy's heartfelt healing magic supporting his injuries. Gajeel's terrible singing... On second thought, there was no need to reminisce that.

And then there was Lucy. Her roaring love for her spirits and loyalty could surpass anyone, power or not. That smiling face, that beautiful golden hair and chocolate brown eyes that drove him crazy.

He put a hand to his head in an almost resigned gesture, knowing that he had already fell in love with someone who was never meant to be.

And Juvia.. He didn't even try to fathom how she would react. Natsu.. That dense idiot doesn't realize it either.

I want her. I want her. But I can't even touch her. Because everything I touch..

Grey fingered a beautiful white rose, where frost slowly crept up and encased it in a gleaming translucent material. It was cold to touch, and Grey did not EVER want Lucy's warm affection to turn cold.

Because everything that I hold dear, everything that I love, everything I want...

The rose shattered with a flick of his finger.

Turns to ice.
