Colouring Pens

"Eddie you promised," four year old Bella complained. 5 year old Edward Cullen smiled at her, showing off the gaps in his teeth.

"No I didn't," he said, sitting next to her on the swings. Their parents were sitting on a bench, keeping one eye on them as they talked.

"Yes you did Eddie, pleeease," Bella begged. He had promised her that she could borrow his colouring pens but he had 'forgotten' them. Edward shook his head and laughed.

Bella crossed her arms over her chest and stood up. "Fine, go find a new best friend!" she said and stormed off to go hide under the slide. Not many kids went under there because they thought ghosts hid under it. Bella didn't believe in ghosts. She didn't care either.

After a few minutes Edward looked under the slide. "I'm sorry Bella, please let me be your best friend again," he begged, sitting next to her and taking her hand in his, refusing to let it go when she tried to pull it away.

She shook her head. "Please Izzy, you can borrow my pens when you want," he offered. Bella smiled. He knew when he used her name like that she couldn't say no.

"Fine," she said and kissed his cheek. He blushed but smiled at her. He was glad they were the best of friends again.
