"Hey mom?" Ashley calls from her room.

"Yes?"

"You know my pen-pal Abbey?"

"Yes, she lives in Australia. Why?"

"I She called me and she said she's coming to America to visit."

"Well that might be a little hard for us, to accommodate for her, with John and all."

"Don't worry; she can bunk with me in my room." Ashley walked down the stairs to talk to her mother properly.

"Okay, when is she coming?"

"Next week, you know, I actually have something to be excited about now."

Anne looked at her youngest daughter and saw something she'd never seen before. "Is that a smile on your face?"

"Maybe" but she blushed.

Just then, Amy walked lazily down the stairs, holding beautiful John, he's nine months now, so he's a little bigger.

"Hey mom would you mind heating up some apple mush? John's been complaining all morning."

"Sure just put him in his chair, and get ready for school"

"Uh, mum?"

"Yeah?"

"It's Saturday"

"Oh right." Mum's been totally out of it since we found out that the baby turned out to be a miscarriage. She was so upset, and still hasn't gotten over it to this day. "Amy, Ashley has some news for us."

"You're not pregnant are you Ash?"

"No I'm not pregnant, My pen-pal Abbey's coming over from Australia."

"I finally get to meet Abbey?" Amy said with much excitement. "

"You knew about Abbey?"

"Well anyway." Anne Cut in, "I'll need to buy more food, we're gonna have another mouth to feed."

"I wonder what she's like…" Amy asked to herself. "I bet she's pretty"

"I bet she's smart."

"Wanna bet on it?"

"10 bucks?"

"You're on"

Ashley giggled, trying to keep it to herself.

"What?"

"We sound like Ben and Henry." This time, Amy giggled along with her.

"So what have you got planned for today?"

"Just hanging out with Ben at his house today, actually, I should probably leave now."

"Don't get pregnant." Ashley called as Amy walked out, that was the running joke. "And sure! I'll take care of John for you, don't bother asking."

Amy double-backed. "Don't worry about that, Ricky's coming over to babysit."

"I'll call him and tell him not to worry; I'll take care of him. It's not like I have anything else to do today."

"Okay then, bye!"

"Bye."

Ashley then turned around to John, who looked like he was about to wail. She picked up the apple mush from the counter and started feeding John.

Just when she finished feeding him, Ricky walked into the house.

"Hey" Ricky said and then took in that Ashley was taking care of John. "Hey, don't worry about it, I'll take care of it."

"Nah, it's okay, he's fed anyway. You can go back to Adrienne's, you know, nasty-nasty."

"I wish, Adrienne's not talking to me, I don't know why…"

"Maybe it's because she finally realised you're a man whore."

"you can talk miss 'I've-never-had-a-boyfriend-in-my-life', if you don't get a boyfriend soon, people are gonna start thinking you don't play for that team."

Ashley threw a pillow at his head with great precision. It narrowly missed John but hit Ricky right in the face.
